Last Day Sales..

Question for you all, I remember seeing a few years ago the last day had food and merchandise half off. Is this a yearly thing?

I'm going the last day this year and would like to grab some cheap merch and would avoid the food wristbands if food is on sale as well.

Thank you

They usually have like half priced candy and some of the food items in stores on sale. The rest of the food is more like full price, but they've run out of half the stuff. :(

I don't know about merch. There may be clearance on a few things, but it's certainly not an everything half off kind of deal.

Yeah, you will notice the full timers gain a few pounds in the off season.

It's mostly candy but remember that is a percentage off candy that was already marked way up to begin with so good if your kids have been bugging you for candy all season but nota massive deal unless they have something you just don't see other places. We usually buy a bit of the odd stuff.

Thanks for the info everyone!

I remember cheap(er) beer on the last day 2 years ago. I wanna say like $3 a bottle. Not sure if that's a usual thing or not, but I enjoyed it!

Reminds me of a time a few years ago at Breakers, when Bon Air was still standing. I want to say it was the weekend before closing - we stayed overnight and went to TGIF at night - they told us they were pouring liquor at $2 a shot until it was gone, because they couldn't have anything left over when the season ended. People were buying shots of Patron and other normally expensive liquors for random people and sharing all over the bar.

Way back, can't remember exactly when, Snoopy Boutique had a 'bag' sale for a lot of items. $10 for everything you can stuff in the bag. I got 8 Cedar Point pillows for the $10. It was limited to 1 bag per sale. Looking back I should've taken the bag to the car and gone back in for another bag of 'stuff'.

It was maybe 4 years ago or so, the last day of the season there were a whole bunch of food items all available for $1. Slices of pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs I remember for sure, but there were lots of different things available. Only problem was, lines were so long it wasn't worth waiting. I waited almost 30 minutes for a $1 hamburger.

Lesson learned for those who complain about the price of food at CP. Although I hate the high prices, just imagine what the lines would be like if the food was considerably cheaper!

I'm more concerned about quality than price. Frankly, I think spending even a dollar on one of their burgers is a waste of money.

We hit a Snoopy Boutique sale one year and got a Snoopy back pack for my son for the same price as cheap Walmart stuff. It was bigger then the average school back pack and held up for more than on school year. The next season we saw the same bag at Beagle Bay outfitters I asked how much it was expecting it to be regular price (it was behind the counter) and it was even cheaper so we bought that one too and put it away for when the first one wore out. My son is a junior in high school this year and the 2nd Snoopy bag finally gave out and it was hard finding another school bag as large as that one and what we found wasn't made as well 2 months into the school year and I'm already repairing the thing.

Hold up. A junior in HS and wears a Snoopy backpack? What planet or timeline do you live in? I have two boys in HS and I can’t imagine the look in their face if I handed them a Snoopy backpack.

Yes, my younger son wore a Snoopy backpack from about 7th grade up until junior year (this year) he would still be wearing it if it wasn't totally worn out in a way that I can't repair. He really loves Snoopy. There is a Snoopy patch on his denim jacket that I have been removing from and reapplying to various pieces of clothing at his request since he was 4. He's also still willing to be seen with me in public and asks me how my day was when I pick him up from school.

Now may be the time to teach him how to rescue and reapply that patch himself.
It sounds like you have a good son. And kids these days, if they’re leading their lives right, don’t give a darn about their choices and what others may think. So good for him and his trademark backpack.
As one of my favorite vloggers always says, “Trends are for the anxious”. Wise words.

Snoopy and the Peanuts gang never go out of style for any age.

I think this is what I was remembering!

I need to teach him to sew in general the jacket is wearing thin and he doesn't want to replace it because it belonged to a great uncle. He doesn't have much interest in following trends he loves classic rock vinyl and thrift stores and proudly wears "Weird Al Yankovic" concert Ts I bought before he was born. I really can't complain about either of my boys too much aside from messy rooms and not doing dishes but I also have a messy room and hate doing dishes.

That's a great kid there... and a unicorn LOL

It was around 2009 or 2010. It was my first or second year working at the park. I remember that sale, but got to it later, and by the time I got there, a lot of it was picked over. I got some stuff though at that sale...
