So like seriously... What rumors are true?

Call Gemini what you want, but looks like there is alot of wood supporting the track.

I’ll call it a steel coaster with a wood structure since that’s what it is.

I'm with Thabto- It's a Silver Pass.

Think of how many more people they can jam in the park at $49.00, gonna make those record numbers for 150th for sure

Not happening. Cedar Point already said that they will offer a regular pass in january that will actually have a higher price point than the $99 Gold pass. Only like 2parks offer Silver pass & it's parks like CGA.

Since we didn’t use sarcasm emojis to point out the obvious, thought I’d save some time.

Reading the post that Tony put on Twitter, seems like there's alot going on. Can't wait for him to spill the beans

While there is no doubt they're planning some celebrations, parades and commemorative merchandising, I think Tony is just doing his job to hype the upcoming year (They're treating the 150th as the attraction).

If there was something truly big being added like a major attraction it would have been announced at the beginning of the fall season and there would have been no reason for a Gold Pass discounted deal offer.

It makes sense financially for them to use the anniversary as the 2020 headliner as it costs them relatively nothing. They also get the "anniversary" offer Gold Pass to try out as a one time offer, if they want to continue it they can. But, they have the excuse that it was a one-time offer if they decide to cancel it.

Also any major construction would have had signs of preparation work. They do have space to work with across the park; old Sandcastle Suites, the old dorms, stage next to wind seeker... I would think that anything announced soon will likely be a multi-year construction project and not ready for 2020.

Not happening. Cedar Fair in their analyst day presentation in August gave a detailed answer on why they are not interested in memberships.

Except in the case of Gemini, one answer is correct and MrJohnJLewis’s answer is wrong.

I predict this is going to be a very meh off-season....lol

I doubt they will have a blah off season, they are trying to hook people. Give them cheap gold passes and new rides and events, and then they will come for years to come when they raise the gold pass price to $200

They don't need a hook. They've already sold a bazillion gold passes and will continue to do so thru January 5th. Having a lackluster 2020 may be part of the plan to keep all the gold pass folks from showing up 14 times each. It'd certainly help with being able to effectively(somewhat) serve the customers in an understaffed park.

They are trying to over hype everything & anything b/c there is likely nothing of note coming, At least Knotts teased a Triotech attraction. CP is likely getting just celebrations of celebrations. They want to be able to claim record attendance and since they aren't adding something big they are doing cheap passes to low end customers that will likely make the park overcrowded more days. They are risking ticking off their loyal and known in park spenders for transients, that only got pass b/c it's cheap. Low end admission people don't spend in park data proves it, look at SEAS vs Six Flags. Also, these people will be gone in mass if they go back to correct pricing of a Gold Pass which at least should be at what regular passes used to be...$137 pre season.

I already miss the 2018 crowds. That’s all I have to say for now.

XS NightClub's avatar

Yeah. It was nice. But very odd Steel Vengeance didn’t deliver the massive crowds that year.

I think SV didn’t bring in huge crowds for 2018 due to the very well publicized bump on opening day followed by limited operations.

How are the SEAS parks low end in any way, especially price? They aren’t as expensive Disney or Universal but they are way more expensive than Six Flags or Cedar Fair...

It's not the support structure that determines whether a coaster is wood or steel, it's the track. Gemini has steel track, making it a steel coaster.

I would consider Gemini, CCMR, and Steel Vengeance to be hybrids.

Steel Vengeance rides: 210

Why? They only have steel track. Know what the only true hybrids are? RMC topper track coasters; Lightning Rod, Goliath, Outlaw Run... How anyone calls that wood track, I’ll never understand.

So SV is a steel coaster? Someone better tell Cedar Point.
