Sad news about a CP guest we all ‘knew’

Some sad news about someone we all have seen on the midway enjoying the park. You may not have known his name but I bet you’ll remember seeing him in the midway.

For the old timers on this site I bet John will find Pete at the bar in heaven and talk all night long about CP.

I’ll hoist one for you down here.

Just saw that shared by some CP friends on Facebook. I never even knew his real name, but probably saw him hundreds of times at the park in the past 20 or years. RIP Mr. Skyward.

My heart actually hurt when I heard about Mr Skywards passing. It just never seemed like a complete day at the point without seeing john. It always made me feel good that he’d see me and come over to me to talk. When I worked raptor he always made sure he waited on what ever row had so I had to check his seat. Or if I was in controls he would always wave at me
The midway will never ever be the same
RIP John ❤️

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

Rest in Peace, sir.

I will miss spotting him roaming the midways this season. It was always an official part of a visit to CP

That is so sad to hear, I would see him on the midway regularly.

I did not know him personally, but did see him often at the park. Probably the only place I saw him more often was at Sts. Peter & Paul church.

Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!

Wow, I had no idea that Pete had passed away last year! Talk about two hits at one. RIP to the both of them.

I am so upset to hear this. I would see him almost every single time I was at the park. I saw him the last day of the season this year. How upsetting. :(
