Can any additional info be gleaned from the picture you were shown of the new ride? Does the the triangle layout remain or is the infield opened up to expand the midway? Could you see any inversions?

You couldn't tell anything additional from the picture. From the Cedar Point Shores parking lot it appeared the track will go down towards the ground after the first fan turn instead of staying up higher.

Whoa, me too. You could blow that one up and hang it on your wall, even. Kudos to the photographer!

So Iron Dragon will offer VR during evening hours. Is the VR an option? My son loves Iron Dragon at night, he will be pretty upset if he can't ride it because of the VR...

VR only for the dates listed when the park is open until 10pm or later.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Not everyone can or wants to do VR. I can't imagine they would deny people from riding if they don't want to do it. However, I would guess the line will be longer and move slower than it did in the past due to VR during those hours.

I feel as though they could have done more with sprucing up iron dragon along with the new VR addition. Many talked about it needed a new color scheme or theme. That could have paired well

No ride has ever needed a new color choice more than Iron Dragon. It is absolutely awful.

Did anyone ask about when the dinosaurs are leaving the Point?

Instead of giving a nod to the past with changing ripcords name, how about we just bring that history back with the return of some form of paddle wheel boat ride

The dinosaurs, like pretty much everything else at Cedar Point will be gone ... eventually. In the meantime, as long as they're popular, they'll be there.

I think Western Cruise / Paddlewheel Excursions has gone the way of Broadway Trip, Scamper, Jungle Larry and Safari Jane, and Mill Race. Which, on the one hand, is sad. I always enjoyed the ride and the horrible puns. On the other hand, what's been removed has always been replaced by something good.

So is the new entrance for the resort gate now going to be set all the way back near where you walk under Magnum? With the tunnel being gone I'm assuming you cross the road now to enter the park or are they going to build a little bridge over the road for guests?

I haven't seen a rendering for that whole new area, if there is one it wouldn't be the first time I've missed something obvious.

You will cross the road to enter the Magnum gate similar to the marina entrance.

Here's a photo of the rough rendering.

Yes, the gate will be pushed well toward Magnum's "flyovers." It will be interesting to see how it turns out. That tunnel was never all that great to look at, but they're going to have to do some serious re-arranging with Magnum's exit, photos, etc.

Standing on the new road near where the Magnum park entrance gate was, I was surprised how much ample room there was for the entrance area. They still might need to have someone stationed to keep pedestrians from lining up into the road before opening on really busy days.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this, but our group was told that metal detectors will be a new addition as well. It wasn't clarified if that was for main gate only, or if it was all gates.

I was hoping for a closer look at Mean Streak, even if we weren't allowed photos, but that wasn't the case. It was still a good event. I'm most excited for Melt, a new adult bar at CP Shores, Cable TV at Bubbles, and BATHROOMS near Bubbles as well ;)

Quick Edit: The new logo for Cedar Point Express Hotel shown in the presentation was pretty cool. I hope that's a sign for future logos to come. It's not on the site yet, but I hope they end up using it.

Thanks Walt! Great pics!!

Looks like there's a railroad-crossing style gate at the road crossing for the Resort Gate.

Umm, The cruise/excursion was replaced with STR--which was NOT "something good." And this comes from a big time supporter of water rides.

Thank you for the info! With the main entrance and the marina entrance that have been redone I have no doubt they will make it work nicely. Other than the first couple years visiting the park in '03 and '04 I've never used any entrance other then the resort. While the tunnel was not all that great I'll miss it, always signified the trip was over or the season passing under it. Gave it a nice fist bump on the way out :)

Judging by Walt's pictures it would seem that maybe Magnum won't have an on ride photo anymore? I would understand if they did away with it. But of all the on ride photos, getting ejected out of your seat right when the picture is taken always made for the best of the bunch along with TTD.
