Any word or thought on a ride for 2006???

In my opinion, we are not getting a new major roller coaster at Cedar Point next season. At this point, not only would we be seeing track arrive, but the assembly would be well underway. I pass Worlds of Fun on a daily basis and I can allready see the Patriot rising over the horizon. Now, I would not completely rule out a coaster similar in size to CP's Wicked Twister or WOF's Boomerang, but it still doesn't look likely.

Unless track starts arriving tomorrow. Then we have to scratch our heads harder...lol.

I noticed about 5 red flags leading into the woods by the petting zoo on Sunday.

That must mean those parts of White Water Landing will come down first. What goes first though? Where do they drain all the water thats on the water rides? I know how they take the boats off, but where do they put the water?

I would imagine the large 'pools' that the water runs into when the pumps shut off have drains in them. Water probably goes into the lake, lagoon, or sewers.

"I know how they take the boats off, but where do they put the water?"

Back in the lake where they got it.

they drain it every year, its not that big of a deal, they also drain the lagoon too

What happens to the fish in there then? Fish Live in the lagoon during the season? Do the fish go down the drain when the water goes too? And I was thinking this, they should clean that out a little, especially near Mantis you can see trash that people throw in there. I wonder if they pick up all the change that people throw in there too.

Fish go down the drain?? Sure the fish go down the drain along with all the trash and change people throw around Mantis. Wonder where the huge plug is located at? Come on now. A drain in the bottom of a natural lagoon? Think logically here. The source from the lake is closed off and the water from the lagoon is pumped out. Where do the fish really go? I dont know but workers from the Ohio Wildlife probably come in with nets and remove them. I know of a modified fishing boat Ohio Wildlife uses which has large electrodes dangling into the water which causes fish to become temporarily paralyzed and they float to the top of the water where they can be removed by hand. They are unharmed in the process. They are then probably released into the wild and or stored in a habitat some where then restocked in the spring after lake has reached a safe temperature. Im sure they also keep all the change they find.

Well now that the seasons over it could be any day now that they announce whatever this is going to be. What if they threw everybody for a loop and instead of waiting a long time they did it like today or tommorrow? :)

That would be great, but unlikely. :(

So, we'll begin the waiting game now. Waiting and watching... Watching and waiting...

As Jeff would say, "Those who know don't talk, those who talk don't know." Or something similar to that.

Vince, you could right, I forgot that just got there. I was refering to the other wood which other people sugested could be for a fence also. The plywood could be for fencing, however, plywood doesn't do well in the rain. Over an entire year of rain that fence would be trashed. There was also shingles and self adhesive water proofing underlamenant. My guess is that the plywood will be for a roof. Wether that would be fixing an existing roof that leaks now or building a new structure, that remains to be seen.

Maniaman, while riding CP&LE RR, I also saw several red flags under the overbank turn to MF, which is directly behind the petting zoo.

Gerg & Daemon, at the podcast, correct me if I'm wrong but I think Dick hinted that we may see an announcement in the next couple of days.

OK, i would think that the reason that wwl is torn out is becuase that the ride for 2007 will be one that takes sometime to build namely all of 06 and into 07. Either we are getting the fabled dueling b&m flyer for 07 or we are getting the flume coaster that was suppose to be here in 05 and there will be heavy themeing to the ride like maybe in the shape of a mountain or it something that requires a lot of build time, that is my 2 cents for today.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

I wouldnt be surprized if we have a duel annoucement on November 1st also if that is the annoucement, cause i dont think they will want to field a lot of questions as to why they decided to take out whitewater landing with out replaceing it
