Any word or thought on a ride for 2006???

oh ye of little faith. There is plenty of room to fit something in. They'll have to be creative about it, but they could fit a 500 footer in. The problem is to do that they would have to enlist Intamin's help, and I think it's time to get away from them for a little while.

This is kind of off-topic but I was thinking of new places to put a Thrill Ride (I couldn't find a spot for a coaster) and I came up with this.

It is by the Raptor.

I do believe I seen somewhere that Hershey Park was getting a Topple Tower making in the first in the U.S. (correct me if im wrong.)

Think Cedar Point would put one in as a flat ride? It seems like the have enough *drop tower* like rides, so a drop tower itself doesn't seem like it would make to much sence.

And how tiwsted would a floorless have to be to fit back in FT? Don't they usually take up quite a bit of space? Speaking of which, tophat, that could be a good place but don't you think the back of the park might be a better idea seeing that there newest flat ride is pretty close to the front?

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

Jeff maybe CP can make a flyer that doesn't suck. I really think floor-less coasters are pointless.

I have to agree that all flying coaster that have been made so far really blow. They're not tall, they're not fast, they're not long. A flyer could be cool if it was actually a good layout with height and speed. Personally, I think the best way to go is a B&M Dive Machine. Think about it. The closest one is at Busch Gardens Tampa. They seem like really cool coasters and it would really contribute to Cedar Point's variety. They also don't take up very much space which would be perfect for Cedar Point's lack of space. It would be an awesome ride if it had height, speed, and inversions too.

Dollywood is the park that is getting the Topple Tower. Link to coasterbuzz...http://www.coasterbuzz.com/2005-189-972112.htm.

I cropped this image a couple months ago in a similar discussion and I figured I would link to it again. If you click on the enlarged version, you can zoom in pretty close.

here

Anyone who says there is no room for a large addition back there obvisouly hasn't looked hard enough. That plot of land White Water Landing resides on is comparable in size to Mean Streak's massive footprint. Sure they would have to remove WWL and/or Antique cars, but both of them seem expendable. WWL operates at half its possible capacity and I find it interesting that it still has yet to get seatbelts--or any safety restraint for that matter.

I still think that the wild rumor about the dueling hyper flyers sounds just so out there, so crazy that it's something they would do. I mean look at 3 of their last 4 coaster installations. They have simply blown away people with their announcements. Why stop now?

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if this "footer" were the anchor for the old swan boat crane. :) Nonetheless, the markings on the ground back in that area are exciting.

By the way, I was wondering, if post something that someone else said, such as in my last post, how do you put a box around it?

On their post, click the "quote" link in the top right hand corner. That'll do all the formatting for you, and then just add your comments below it.

(there's also a nifty "edit" link there too)

I'm pretty sure that is where Midway Market is and I don't think they would take that out.

Tophat, a dive machine is what Oblivion or Sheirka (sp.)?

What is a Dive Machine?

A Dive Machine is a coaster with a 90 degree vertical drop into an underground tunnel, like SheiKra at BGT.

SheiKra looks awesome, especially sitting up there before diving. The water effects also look pretty nifty.

Thrills Around the Corner!

I have a crazy idea. Make a coaster where you sit on the sides. Like a floor-less coaster except your feet a dangling from the side.

Like X at MM? I would love to have a 4D at CP. They are building a 2nd one in europe somewhere i think. SO maybe they have worked out some of the maintenance issues.

What do you guys think of the idea of getting a Dive Machine though? I think that would just work out perfectly. It's very different from the coaster that Cedar Point has in my opinion.

I thought that this would be a cool coaster to get: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2773.htm?picture=26
Of course it would have a layout similar to this one: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3185.htm?picture=2

Oh yeah! and it would be 500ft tall!! Just imagine it, it would fit in a small area, the lift is straight up so that alone would eleminate a grate deal of space, and best of all, you would be upside down at 500 ft!!!
Just imagine what that would be like!!!

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

if a dive machine was built and it was 300 ft. high and went 200 ft. underground. would it count as the highest coaster.

TTD 120mph's avatar

I think it would have to be from ground level to be counted as the tallest. And 200 feet underground??? You know how deep that is and how hard that would be to do. I cant imagine them or anybody doing that.
But you're thinking and that's good! :) *** Edited 7/12/2005 10:16:41 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***
