Artist and your Favorite One

I love those little people holding the height sticks. I just had a few questions about them. Who comes up with and paints the people? When where they first used? What is your favorite? What does Cedar Point do with them when they done using them? I would love to buy one of those. My favorite one is Power Tower. I wish they would have named Mantis Banshee, that little stick holder would have been so cool.
I don't know what they do with all of them, but I do know that they auctioned off the original one for the Magnum at this Christmas silent auction thing that I went to this year. It was auctioned with two days passes each for the park and Soak City. I don't know what the bidding ended up getting to, because the thing had just started when I was there, but the highest bid was at $40 at the time...I am sure they far surpassed that by the end of the night!
I still like the little Mantis dude! I LOVE the Magnum one!!! It's so... futural...!
I remember seeing the sign with the layout of Banshee. It was sitting in the parking lot of P&D during the summer of 1998. When I worked at the Sandcastle I would enter the back of the park through the employee gate. The gate was located back by the bottom of the Gemini lift hill, near the transfer table. I would go past it on the way to the Stockade employee area. The Planning and Design Department comes up with the signs. They have the job of designing all of the signs in the park, and also plan the expansions that take place in the park.
