Best place to eat?

Kevinj's avatar

Nope and nope.

But you say that as if Best Buy and Target are hard places to avoid during one's life.

Here's my deal. If I am aware, or become aware, of something to the degree like the situation with Chik-fil-A, then no, believe it or not, I actually don't give them a dime. I actually care quite a big deal for numerous reasons about the gay rights movement, so not eating there is a very easy choice.

The company has made it very blatantly obvious that they support the discrimination of gay individuals with regards to marriage.

Incidentally, I have no idea why Best Buy or Target would be brought up. I like awareness, though, so please...do tell.

Come on, leave the guy alone...you don't have to say, "If you don't eat there, you shouldn't shop here or here." It's a personal choice and no one has to explain that choice. I agree with dj though, they went out of their way to express their dislike for gay people, so I don't give them my money either.

On topic, I feel like Midway Market is the best deal, being a buffet. Panda Express is also a great choice, you get a pretty big portion for what you pay.

Exactly my philosophy too. Now that corporations are "people" the list of companies to avoid might grow longer as they start openly donating to these kinds of political causes, as what happened with Target and Best Buy last fall. I do kind of miss Target, but they didn't have anything I can't find at Meijer. I haven't shopped at Best Buy since they debuted their Geek Squad.

That's not even close to the same thing as what Chick-Fil-A does, and in fact Target has course-corrected due to the backlash. As far as I know, Chick-Fil-A continues to support the oppression of gay couples. So I'm not sure why you insist that I shouldn't be shopping at Target or Best Buy. And not that it matters, but I do shop at Target regularly, and Best Buy once every year or so.

Even worse, as I understand it, there's nothing "open" about these contributions. But yes, that corporations are considered "people" in this regard is embarrassing. Welcome to the United Corporations of America, kids.

The best place to eat is in one of the picnic pavilions. Bring your own food - whatever you want. It has to be at least 50-75% cheaper than anything CP has to offer (and a whole lot healthier)!

If you are lucky, you can do the Yogi Bear solution and find someone else's picinic basket - but that is kind of rude.

Without a doubt, the best place to eat though!

I love how anytime Chick Fil A is mentioned on this forum, the thread descends (and often derails) into a debate about their business practices...

Anyhow, In response to the original question, I always recommend the Johnsonville Brat special. I haven't been to the park in he past year and a half but I assume they still have it. You get a Brat, chips, and a small bottle of pop for around 5.00. Always been one of the better values in the park.

I never insisted that you shouldn't shop there. I implied that both companies give money to anti-gay politicians; so it would be surprising for me to see gay rights supporters shop there, just how they don't eat at Chick-fil-a. I am sorry if you took my post the wrong way.

More than rude, it's a crime called theft.

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

I agree and disagree. It is probably the most cost efficient place to eat,but I really don't think that the food is on a par with most chain buffets.

I thought it was a mistake to close Macaronis. It was a nice cool place to get out of the heat and the food was tasty and for CP reasonably priced.I for one miss it.

My favorite place right now is the sports bar near the Old Coaster,Blue something...

One of the tastiest things I've found at CP is the Calypso Chicken Wrap at Hurricane Hannah's. Grilled chicken, pineapple, cheddar cheese and a spicy carribean sauce wraped in a floor tortila.

And who "wraped" the chicken? That's just gross.

Bacon cheeseburger (No chili for me) from pinks. One of the best burgers I have had. Their fries are good, too.

Let's Get Weird.

I just learned a lot more than I was planning on simply looking for food in the park. I haven't been out there for 2 seasons, wanted to check up on the new food options.

Now I'm questioning why anyone would care about the views of someone selling you chicken? I mean 'com on. It's just chicken! and whether buy it or not changes nothing. So why short yourself a good chicken sandwich?

I'll be around the park on July 5th, Pink's for lunch anyone?
