Cedar Point's Next Coaster: Do You Think It Would More Likely Be An Intamin Or a B&M?

I would love to see a 4D coaster come to Cedar Point, but I don't want to hear Six Flags lovers come at us with the "you copied us", just like Dragster and Kingda Ka all over again...but this time, the other way around.

I can definitely see a B&M wing coaster coming to CP.

No, it would most certainly suck. Flying coasters suck. If you disagree, you haven't been on many of them.

^ It all depends on what you get a thrill from. I remember when I rode X-Flight at Geauga Lake for the first time I didn't trust the restraint system. I got more of a thrill from the fact that there was absolutely nothing but a seat belt preventing me from falling 115 feet than the actual ride.

Edit: But I was a twig back then. So someone with a larger build might not have experienced that.

I've been on four fliers and indeed, they've all pretty much sucked. But then again, I've never been on Tatsu, which is supposed to be something special, nor have I gotten the chance to hit Manta.

Manta was fun, though that's the only B&M flyer I've been on so I can't say I would endorse the concept being implemented at CP without trying the others. Though I don't personally think a flyer would fit despite the whole "variety" argument. I just don't think it's necessary since the only 2 flyers that seem to matter are Tatsu and Manta. And they're the only ones that work well with the parks they were built at (seaworld with the animal aspect & SFMM with the terrain).

B&M's certainly do...a major snooze fest. I was hoping I'd get to try one of the Vekoma flyers and did get to try FIrehawk this past summer. REALLY enjoyed it...a lot more than B&M's. Tho on the whole I'm not a huge flyer fan...they're dull and too short but the GP seem to eat them up

Tatsu is a great ride, and for what it's worth, ranks in the CoasterBuzz top 30.

B&M Wingrider or B&M Flier. That's my vote, although I'd also be happy if they destroyed Mean Streak and built a woody worth riding in it's place.

Just like the people that feel they have to post every other entry on this site, CP needs a good BM!

I like Firehawk at King's Island. I'll try out Manta in February. I just like them because its a different experience than sitting down.

I have ridden Firehawk at Kings Island and Nighthawk at Carowinds, both weren't bad. I think I liked Night Hawk better cause you were flying over the water which made it more exciting. I'll be able to try the one at Six Flags Great America this summer.

Ive been on Manta, Tatsu, Firehawk Superman and Night hawk and really enjoyed Tatsu Manta and Nighthawk. Tatsu is a great ride but placed anywhere besides that geography and it would lose a ton of charm. Manta being my first flier had a few elements that literally took my breath away and I enjoyed it because it gave me that surprise. Nighthawk was ok but enjoyable. Firehawk, if I never ride again Ill be just alright. Superman (GA) was a waste of time.

This all being said, I dont think CP needs one of these. Its an old gimmick and the geography of CP wouldnt make this one special unless it was put completly over water which I dont really see happening. A wing rider would be cool but it would really have to set itself apart from the two going up next year and Im not sure that will be possible. I for one think we will see some coaster that falls within the "traditional sit-down" category that tops 400 ft maybe even approaching 500 ft.... and no it wont be wooden nor have 16 loops all over the water. However you can just call me a fanboy!

My money is on uniqueness (whatever that might mean). CP does well to set apart it's coasters from others so I definitely think it'll be a one of a kind layout that might improve on an existing idea. Plus, whatever it is, it has had a good few years to mature into whatever the final decision is (or will be if it's still in some final design phases).
