Could Intamin make a bigger upgrade to TTD?

I'm sure attendance to CP would go through the roof if Intaminan/CP/CF decides to upgrade the coaster to make it break Kingda Ka's (or whoever) records. New technology would make sure it doesn't break down as easily and maybe Intamin, for once, make seats for slightly bigger people.

The name of this ride? "Ultimate Top Thrill Dragster".

Worth the upgrade?

No.

Is it a nostalgia issue?

Besides logistical issues.... It seems to me cost vs return on investment would make this a non starter. The general public wouldn't care if they made it 40-50 feet taller. No one is going to come out and decide to take their entire family to the park, simply because they made TTD "ultimate".

What he said, basically.

  • People don't care about records.
  • Intamin makes awful products.
  • Intamin still employs Mr. Kernacs.
  • Even if the above weren't true, TTD literally cannot be any taller than it is in the current footprint, and the footprint cannot be expanded enough to accommodate it being taller.

The investment into Expanding TTD will not generate the desired revenue results, therefore it will not happen.

Investing the money into another new coaster would.

Would this not be acceptable for (1) of the (2) new required coasters?

No, it would need to be 2 brand new coasters. TTD already has a line so adding to TTD will do nothing to lessen wait times on other rides.

If anything it will delay the launch of the next train waiting only causing further delays to a coaster that has its "Problem Child" troubled issues.

Where’s the “Vote Down” button?

I'd love to see a "vote down" button.

TTD would a great addition to any (other) park. Use the space for better. A log flume or even a kiddy carousel would have higher actual capacity than broke down dragster.

Undeniably, Intamin has manufactured some real turds. Yet, before RMC was invited to the peninsula, the top rated (and aging attractions) on Point are from Intamin. Funny how that works. Just awful.

I mean despite some of the failures intamin makes, I still think they have some amazing rides that they've made.

Intamin produces some of the best rollercoasters out there with the worst reliability.

I should make ultimate TTD on Planet Coaster.

I think the question was “could they” and the answer is yes. They could.
Would they? Or should they? Will they? Hell nawl.

Maybe after they get Valravn and Steel Vengeance at full three train operation as designed they can focus on Ulti-TTD.
