Crowd Level Observations

It's early in the season, so obviously we don't have a lot of "data" to work with, but what is your opinion on the crowd levels so far? Personally, I think the prediction of higher attendance levels was pretty accurate. I went to the park yesterday, and the crowds seemed higher than May/June of last year. Maverick was around 30-45 and TTD was over an hour. MF seemed short, but I think it was because it kept going down. Oddly enough, ERT for MF was longer than the normal hours.

These crowds aren't really "bad," but they are higher than I expected so early in the season. If they continue to increase (which I'm sure they will), I may skip July altogether.

The park has only been open for a week and two days as of this post. Of the 9 days the park has been opened, I'm pretty sure it has rained on at least 7 or 8 of those days. Don't forget, Windseeker hasn't even opened yet. My educated guess is going to be that their attendance has been down... if you can even say that. It's almost unfair to be talking about attendance right now, because it's way to early in the season; most schools haven't even let out for the summer yet.

It probably felt busy yesterday because a lot of high school kids go to Cedar Point for their "after-prom." Never mind that not all of the shows are open, or heck, even some of the rides; so not everything is at full capacity... Plus, the sun was actually out. :)

I'd ask this question again in July.

Went today and was probably the best weather day so far. Very low waits. walk on to Raptor, Str, Gemeni, Magnum,Blue streak, Dt, and no more than 15min on Maverick, and Millie. And, of coarse, no line at all for Windseeker and Ocean motion. Was an absolutely fantastic day at the park today. Nothing at all could be said bad about today!!

Extremely low waits today. I walked on to Blue Streak (twice in a row), Magnum, and Corkscrew, and nearly walked on to Raptor. Top Thrill Dragster was about half an hour, tops.

My daughter and I were there too, and were delighted at both the weather (which was much warmer than the high of 67 degrees forecast) and the lightness of the crowds. Put it this way: while climbing Raptor's lift about 6:00 this evening, I estimated the total number of cars in the main parking lot as probably no more than 200 to 300.

I miss being able to head to the park on weekdays.

Me too!

My close friend only lives 5 min away, she can go anytime during the week ;) *jealous*

The only problem living <60 minutes away is that you have to live in Ohio. :)
