Enhanced Speed

O.K. I surprised nobody brought this up yet. Watch the promo movie again. In the promo CP released yesterday there is a part of it when it talks about it's stats as the computer animation guides the tour through the ride. After the turns on the island, the promo says something like "blast back to the tunnel". I'm wondering if they are going to use magnets to increase it's speed at this point of the ride? Does anyone know for sure? I think this may be one of the surprise elements that CP is not saying anything about on the stats page.

I don't think the ride is boosted in any way. This probably refers to the tunnel being at the bottom of a hill.

I think they used the word 'blast' because the tunnel is right after the crossover hills. You'll have a lot of airtime on the top of the hill then you'll hit the tunnel at the bottom. Should be a great combination. The word 'blast' is used for effect.

In the video after the voiceover says "Third hill, 182 feet" it says "Thunder back to tunnel, Greatest Thrill Ride ever." The animation speeds up during this time, as it does in the beginning of the video cresting over the lift hill. There's nothing really exciting (except when you're actually riding it) at this point in the ride to mention. I'm assuming the phrase 'thunder back to tunnel' was used to speed along the dialogue and ride... after "Return to Station, breathe... You have just broken 10 world records" watch the background as it goes thru the motions of the ride again, this area is not sped up, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Visually, there's nothing really intruiging going on. Just like when the voiceover says "Airtime", they're actually showing the last turn around before the brake run, and not the airtime hill.

Well, the way I see it, they may be using the magnets at this point of the ride kinda like they use them to get the cars to go near 100mph for S:TE.

Why would you think that cpboy? The park never mentioned anything about LIMS and 92 mph is the top speed. Not "nearing" 100 mph, but 92. I'm curious why you think they're will be magnets on the ride?
No. No. What I was attempting to say is that they may have placed only one magnet in that spot to enhance the speed. Not at 100 mph, but faster than what gravity is allowing for. Maybe something close to 50 mph. Just to give the rest of the ride an extra "kick". You guys are probably right, but they made that part of the ride on the promo deciving.

It's stylistic editing... settle down, you're starting to imagine things. There are no LIM's.

and i have a feeling the ride will probably still be doing at least "something close to 50" at that point anyway :)
