Favorite Ride Moments at CP

What is your favorite moment or element on a ride at CP?

For me, it's Maverick's first airtime hill. That thing is intense, particularly in the front.

Other good moments include MF's first drop in the back of the train (although I don't love it as much as I used to), Magnum's bunny hops without trims, and TTD's launch (and essentially the whole ride - it's very strange for a coaster, and its height means that every one of the few things it does is a strange, awesome moment.)

One of my favorite ride moments has always been and still remains the hill on Gemini where it looks and almost feels like you're going to hit your hands on the support beam. I still love watching riders quickly pull their arms back down. We love to give an extra little thrill to some and yell out just as we're about to go under. I will also always love the thrill of the first drop on Raptor. The little bump overlooking the midway and then whoosh! It still makes me giddy after all these years.

This question made me think for a minute. I'm gonna list a couple.

While Millennium Force is my favorite ride, cresting the second hill on Magnum, overlooking the beach and Lake Erie, is probably my favorite ride element.

The splash at the bottom of Snake River Falls is always a lot of fun. Everybody on the ride is having fun, and there are always spectators watching from the bridge.

Power Tower drop side, waiting for the drop. A great view, no matter which seat, and a fun ride!

My favorite feeling is at the top of the lift hill of Gatekeeper anticipating that flip over the top and diving down into the loop. Makes me feel like I'm flying...

Maxair and Skyhawk are a trip, but nothing compared to watching my 9 year old son with autism smile as he thinks he is actually driving a "Cadillac Car". He rides Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, & Mine Ride, will not ride Corkscrew, Gemini, Mean Streak. We ask him and he says "maybe tomorrow" all year.

Nothing better than this: cresting the lift hill on Magnum, on a calm summer night, with a cloudless sky filled with stars above you, Lake Erie before you, and Cedar Point behind you. That moment is sheer perfection.

Yes, one of the finest ride experiences of any ride in any amusement park I've been too. Magnum was always special for the view in addition to the ride.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

One of my favorite moments is reaching the top of ripcord waiting for the "3 2 1 fly!" Through the first drop. Even after many, many flights this season, it never gets old

I like the bottom of the 3rd hill on Mean Streak when my spine turns to dust.

Okay, really though, I like the anticipation of the drop side on Power Tower. As previously mentioned, it is a great view!

I'm going with when swing reaches its high points on Skyhawk, no matter whether looking down to the ground or up to the sky. Sitting next to a Skyhawk virgin is one of my favorite things at the park.

2014 OP: We are going to take you higher than Maverick, faster than Gemini, and so much better than that overgrown tire swing they call MaxAir.

Kid next to me: Better than MaxAir?

Me and OP together: Better than MaxAir.

The squeals from that kid were great.

It begins for me in the car as I approach Cedar Point. That first view of the skyline gives me goose bumps from anticipation of what I'm about to behold.

Driving across the causeway with the skyline beckoning is always exciting. Like Magic Kingdom in Florida, getting to the park is part of the fun.

Fantastic thread with great responses. I think I "upvoted" every one.

Agree with everyone so far - there are so many special moments/ elements at the point:

The view of the Park from the causeway
Skyhawk
First drop on Millie
First drop on Gemini
The view from Magnum
Drop side of Power Tower

For me - Gatekeeper - The inversion over the front gate on the first train of early entry as you wave to the crowds below waiting to process in. "It's going to be the best day ever!"

This made me LOL. I think it would make a great Halloweekend piece of theming. It could be a sign (tombstone?) at the bottom of the hill "RIP - this is where my spine turned to dust"

My favorite roller coaster is Millennium Force! The drop is amazing, but my favorite part is the ground hugging turn right after the first over bank.

For Rougarou, my favorite part is the inclined loop that goes over the lagoon. As I've said in the Rougarou topic, I have Rougarou in my top 5 now at Cedar Point.

My 2 favorite elements in the park are 1. Millie's first drop. Especially at night.
2. Airtime hills on Blue Streak. I think you spend more time out of your seat than in it. Probably because it's really fast for a coaster that size. (I think the 40 mph reading as the top speed is a little off, I think that thing is actually in the 45-50 range)

The god of speculation

First drop on MF...best ride moment anywhere, ever.

Maverick's lift/launch hill, getting over the jump to the inverted drop in back row...feeling like I'm being thrown out of my seat.

Before the first GK drop where it feels like you're just hanging there.

Definitely the climb of Magnum's hill taking in the view. The drop is great too.

Have to agree the anticipation atop Power Tower's drop side is up there, taking in the view.
