Hotel Breakers - eStandby Upgrade Request

We have a reservation at Breakers from 7/23 - 7/28. When I search to see if there are any rooms open during that time frame it shows they are sold out. Yesterday I received an email from Cedar Point asking me about an eStandby Upgrade Request. It gave me three different room types. Has anyone else seen this? I am wondering if they hold back rooms? These upgrade requests do require additional payments. My fingers are crossed we can get an upgrade.

I got one when I stayed opening weekend, but it wasn't approved when I got there because no one had canceled - so I wouldn't hold your breath on it.

ADA requires them to hold back compliant rooms unless they are requested.

I don't believe they hold back rooms. I believe they simply use the standby list in the event of a cancellation.

I'm wondering why I wasn't offered the upgrade to get in the room early for $40. The front desk said it isn't always available. I couldn't get in our room Saturday until 4:00. I was not too happy.

Oh no! You couldn't get in until check in time? That sounds disastrous! Talk about a first world problem.

I've received that email every time I've stayed at a Cedar Point resort. I'm pretty sure it's sent automatically.

I know this is 2 years late, but I think it’s automatic because they normally will send you a survey after your stay, at least I usually get one.
