Arrived at the toll booths at 10am. Drove to the back of the park for a primo spot close to the secondary entrance of Soak City. Entered Cedar Point at about 10:15am. Rode the TTDragster 3 times in 35 minutes. No crowds, this was unbelievable! We have never waited less than 20 minutes for one ride on TTDragster. Went to Soak City around 12 pm because it was getting pretty warm outside. It was so quiet! Rode all 3 slides on Erie Falls, hopped in the Wave Pool and did a spin on Renegade River. And then...while there were several ominous clouds, they passed by....but the wind started picking up, and the approaching clouds were really dark. I saw a flash of lightning, and we went to our car to wait it out. After the storm finally passed, we decided to go to our hotel to change, have dinner and come back afterwards. Traffic was re-routed to the Chausee. Had no idea why. Thought maybe the Causeway was flooded. While at dinner, found out the park would close at 7pm. It was 6:15pm. No point in going back. We have all day tomorrow! Received an e-mail stating that the park would remain closed on Monday, June 6....my husband's birthday....the reason for our trip! We lost 2 vacation days and are hoping our July visit is nothing like this one! Glad there were no injuries, considering the damage. (We were at the park when Hurricane Sandy was hitting the East Coast some years back. The winds were so strong that sand was hitting the cars in the main parking lot and most rides were down. It was Halloweekends at the time---but the park and Causeway had no issues)
