Magnum XL200 2.0

Next can we get a MXL re-track, re-theme?!. First thoughts are resurrect Disaster Transport through this. Dark ride and coaster in one swoop.

If anything, I think it would be cool to see the tunnel effects return, or some new effects added in. The strobe lights, the sound effects, the fog, all that jazz. Here's a 1989 POV just to show what I mean. (Anyone know why they went away to begin with?) Beyond that, NO.

I vote no...

But 26 years after it opened, I rode Phantom's Revenge at KW this week.. wow I loved it.

It can sink another 5 feet before they have to replace it, so we will have to wait another 30-40 years.

It isn't broke. No need to fix it. Not sure what you're envisioning, but nobody is going to take that spectacular view as you crest the lift hill away from me. :-)

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

I vote for a more comfortable ride, but not much needs to change. Maybe some spots receive some TLC like Phantoms Revenge. But other than that, no.

I had the pleasure of riding Steel Force(less) at Dorney this week. Sure, it looks like Magnum, it is smoother, but I was left with an "ehhh" feeling at the end.

100% NO! Do not touch Magnum.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Ahhh...can I touch the silver support post when I walk under it?

No. The only parts they should ever touch are the pretzel turn, particularly its end. That isn't a huge deal though. I believe that turn is already re-profiled to be smoother than its original form. But feel free to touch the trim brakes if you're removing them :P

I do have a few other ideas for Magnum (a trim right before the safeties that turns on if the ride's going to stack to avoid the car-crash stack, although the best solution is not to stack, which is usually a solution that is followed.) But they should not reprofile any of the airtime hills and they shouldn't add hydraulic restraints (part of Magnum's appeal is the ejector airtime with restraints that don't totally staple you.)
