Markings near Snake River Falls

There's been reports that there are markings around SRF and you can see them in the picture below that I found on a Facebook page. What could this mean? I would doubt that anything is happening to the SRF area since the new RMC will be the new attraction next year. Could the RMC just be a small piece of a bigger picture? Could an overhaul of the entire Fronteirtown be in the works?

Hopefully it means that that 'paved brick' walkway will be repaired & not become a further trip hazard, LOL, IMO.

Keep passing the fun along!

Judging from the paved bricks that are "marked", those bricks appear to be newer than the surrounding bricks, and that those bricks have been lifted before. My instict tells me, that there is some sort of underground repair that needs to be made. Perhaps electrical or plumbing.

Based on colored markings, that would be a gas line.

I doubt it's anything about demolishing SRF, but if they do, I would expect a new flume to quickly come up in its place, as CP would only have 1 water ride at that point.

My guess would be area improvements. You would want to know where utilities are so you don't accidentally cause a major problem.

I never trust markings anymore. I remember when there were markings in the picnic area near Raptor and nothing ever happened.

Perhaps some ruffian from the friends and family event snuck in a can of spray paint and painted those lines just to start something.

^^ That may have tied into Valravn and improvements in the area. It's in close proximity.

There is extensive electrical work going on in the Marina parking lot going all the way to the toll gate. I'm not sure how far past the lot towards Frontier Town this is going as I haven't been that way, but perhaps the markings at SRF has something to do with that. This is major work with a construction trailer to oversee it. An idea I had is that the electrical work has something to do with MS.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Marking the start of the new queue.

^That'd actually be a good idea. SRF is one ride where the entrance and exit are separated by quite a lot.

I would love to see the Snake River Falls bridge decking, stairs, and all of the asphalt between the ride exit and the ride entrance be replaced with more foot-friendly materials...

But these lines are on a main midway with just days left before opening day. Either this repair is going to happen quite quickly, or this area is going to be closed to the public during the seaon. (It's waay too early in the season to be marking concrete for Fall 2017 projects) The painted lines don't just stay there. They will wash away quickly with food traffic and rain.

Just my humble opinion, and I'm certainly open to opposing views. I have been known to be wrong once or twice before.

Those markings may not be the critical points, but could have been used to locate critical points.

Snake River Falls is going nowhere... If it was taken out that would leave CP with only one water ride left... and they are already lacking in the water ride department as is (IE: a flume).

Those markings could be for work that was already done. In my time at the park I saw it happen many times where the contractor hired to trace underground utilities would mark lines outside of the area where work was being performed. I assume just in case work needed to be expanded and instead of coming back they would already have their basis covered. If this is a gas line, where it looks like work has been done before based on the bricks, there could have been a valve replaced and the path of the gas line was traced in both directions.

Exactly this. I recall during preparations for either Skyhawk or Maverick, some were convinced of Antique Cars' impending demise due to markings in that ride's infield.

Brandon

I could see snake river falls coming Dow in the next 10 years, but I don't think they will ever touch antique cars.

It's for that new GCI woodie we are getting in Shoot the Rapids old spot
