Maverick & Full Bladders

You know that feeling when you're waiting in line for a long time and you have to pee, but don't want to get out of the line that you already spent a long time in? Yeah, it's fine for most rides. Except for Maverick.

I usually try to ignore it, and I'm usually fine during the ride because I am not thinking about my bladder. One time on Maverick, however, the pain was bordering on unbearable. The worst part was exiting that tunnel. I am really surprised but also very, very glad that my bladder did not explode. I did not enjoy that ride at all, and I should have just left the line. Somehow I still managed to make it to the restroom after all of that.

Maverick with a full bladder? Don't ever attempt that or else you will regret it, no matter how long you have waited in line for, lol.

this made me LOL sorry. but really I can imagine that not being fun

Stay off the beer and that won’t happen...

That story reminded me of a horrible time I had the year The Beast opened. I went with a friend who was dying to try it, and after a big day I’d riding (and beer drinking) we got in the hour + line for the coaster. Well, about half way I had to pee so bad I thought there was going to be an accident. We got up to the train and I asked if I could pass out and come back to use the restroom. He said no, of course, as that wasn’t allowed. So I said “Fine. Either I leave and come back or it’s a guarantee you’ll have a mess to clean up cause I’m riding regardless.” He paused a sec then said “Sir, the exit is right there, come back up the same way and hurry”. I left my friend standing there and ran to the men’s.
Due to his kindness my Beast ride was soooo much nicer. And I learned a lesson.

General rule of thumb my group uses-if you're drinking in the park, 45 minutes or less for lines or you might not make it. An hour would really be pushing it.

Saw someone in line at CW this year solve the bladder-in-line issue by relieving themselves in the garbage can in the queue :(

I’m very fortunate to require limited restroom visits while at the park. (Or anytime really.) Unless I’m drinking alcohol, I usually don’t require much for a whole day. I rarely need breaks at work, and if I’m at the park for only a partial day, I may only need to use a restroom when I arrive.

Maverick since '99

I have a funny story about bladders and roller coasters. Every year when we go to CP, we take my brother. The first year we went, it was toward the end of the day, and we got in line for wicked twister. When we were next in line, he said that he had to go really bad. I asked if he could wait, he said no. So he got out of line to go, but by the time he got out of line, you guessed it, he peed his pants. It was not good. The next year we didn't think about it getting in line, but guess what happened again... One year later, we decided to give him one more chance. It happened again, of course. We haven't let him get in line again since. Because of this, my brother still hasn't ridden wicked twister to this day.

I have had to clean up several AURs on Giant Wheel this past year. It is to be expected when you have a ride time that lasts up to 20 mins plus the queue time.

^What's an AUR?

I was once in line for Power Tower when a torrent of pee burst forth from this kid in line near us. It was the freaking Yellow River. You would not believe how much pee was in this kid.

^^^^Maverick360, how old is your brother? and are you making sure that he goes to the bathroom IMMEDIATELY before getting into the Wicked Twister line? I'd almost wonder if the first incident was an issue of a full bladder + anxiety over the ride kind of thing and has since transformed into a self fulfilling prophesy where he/you assume it is going to happen again this year - and so it does...

Regardless of the causes behind it, good luck with that next year!

Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!

Ya that story is way different if his brother is 8 as opposed to 28...

One time in line I had some CP workers come up to my friends and I and ask if we saw anyone peeing in line (we were in line for Maverick). I burst out laughing I thought it was a joke but apparently they had complaints from other guests. My best guess was the group of people a couple rows ahead who were extremely drunk. So those people surely did not have the same problem as ValravnCP

My brother is 10. He really isn't anxious about the ride (he puts his hands up on dragster) so I really don't know what causes it. He goes to the bathroom sometime before the ride. It's kinda weird, but we don't really think about it much.

Ernie peed his pants too.

Millennium is the really bad one for full bladders. The restraint rests right on mine. Once with a full bladder never again.

If peeing your pants is cool, then I’m Miles Davis!
