MaXair Worth Trying?

I'm planning my first visit to Cedar Point and I've heard mixed reviews about MaXair. Some love it, some get sick to their stomach. If I rarely get sick on rides, will I probably be okay? Also, if I close my eyes if I feel a bit nauseous, will that help at all? Thanks.

You'll be fine.

MaXair is one of my favorite rides along with Skyhawk, but I have to admit they're really scary.

I don't ride MaXair because it makes me sick... Some people can handle it though...

Maxair offers a constantly changing mixture of sensations. Because the riding bell is turning, the attitude of guests is in an apparently random position at the top of each swing cycle: sometimes you're at the top facing the sky, others seemingly straight down, and any position in between.

However, because the swing cycle takes so long and the riding bell doesn't turn that rapidly, the forces you experience are not intense, as they do in a ride like Chaos, for example. (Yes, I know it's gone, but it's the best contrast I can think of.)

It's a gentle, sometimes disorienting ride. I frequently like to close my eyes and drift off for the entirety of the cycle. I recommend giving it a try, if you handle other spinning flats well.

I like rides that make my attitude random. I can never guess how I am going to feel when I board MaxAir...

:)

Gotcha, Ensign.

And I would highly recommend giving MaxAir a ride; very worth it.

There is no more freakier feeling then being face-up at the top of Maxair, feeling like you are going to fly out and land on top of Disaster Transport. No other ride in the park gives you that kind of feeling. I have severe motion sickness and this ride did not get to me at all.

maXair is a fun ride, but makes me sick. I like Skyhawk much better. But both provide different experiences; maXair is fun because it turns while swinging, Skyhawk is fun becuase there are a points of weightlessness during the ride.

MaXair is the only ride that I have ever felt remotely sick on.

MaXair is amazing! Definitely worth trying!

Maxair is great! You have to at least try it. The conquerer did it and so can you.

No coaster will ever be too fast or too tall!

Maybe you could use an attitude adjustment...

If you do not normally get sick on rides you should be fine. Its a great ride.

Just ride it at the end of the day so if it makes you sick it doesn't ruin your whole day.

I LOVE this ride!

I convinced a family member (who is absoutely terrified of rides... she screamed on the junior gemini!) to get on MaXair two years ago.

Why did I do this? Because I am mean and don't have a heart!

Anywho... She was on the exact polar opposite side of the bell and amidst all of the other park noise that day, I could still hear her screaming the entire time.

When the ride was over... she slowly made her way over to the bushes outside of the space needle and lost her lunch.

MaXair has special memories for me. :-)

^ if she was a family member you went with, and rode it with, then why was she sitting on the exact opposite side of the gondola from you? :)

I COULD say I planned it that way because I didn't want her to throw up on me... :-)

But it was really because we were with a larger group of people and got split up in the Queue line (half of uswent left and half went right). :-)

Yes!!!! Max air is most definitely on of my favorite rides at Cedar Point. To me, I don't even notice I'm spinning. It's not a super long ride, so I'd say it's worth a try.

I have never gotten sick from maXair, I think it's the best thrill ride in Cedar Point
