MaxAir,Skyhawk, and Power Tower. . . .

Those are the only rides at Cedar Point that I haven't ridden yet! I really want to ride them but I'm nervous especially about MaxAir....Can you describe the ride experience and how are they the same/different? Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Favorite coaster: Millennium Force
Favorite flat: maXair

MaXair is pretty much a Giant Tire swing ride. That's what I like to think of it as. Anyway though I would say MaXair is my favorite out of the three you mentioned. You are almost inverted on MaXair since it swings 140 feet in the air at 70 mph. I would say once you're at full speed on MaXair, you get that ejector seat airtime while at the same time getting nice view of the park in a different way.

Skyhawk is a lot of fun too. What I like about Skyhawk is that once you get at full speed, you also get that air time going forward. Going backwards you feel the airtime too as well as getting to look down at the guests walking the midway. At 65 mph, you really feel the wind blow by you! Personally I like MaXair better, but both are great rides.

Power Tower is a lot of fun. If are scared of heights, I wouldn't recommend the drop side to you right away. I would do the Thrust side first which is a lot fun. The Thrust side lifts you up like 10 feet and before you know it your blasted up at speeds of 50 mph.
So there you have it dude. I hope my advice helps you.

Ditto on what Shawn said about the fist two.

Power Tower is one of my top 3 rides in the park because it's the only one that consistently scares the sh*t out of me. I'm a hypnotist who cures fears for a living, and this ride gets me EVERY TIME. If you want to be extra scared, jockey for a seat on the inside, facing one of the other towers... it makes the ride even scarier since you can see exactly how high you are the entire time.

The outside seats give you a view of the park or water, which is great... but not as terrifying.

You'll love them all!

I've seen several people on here say that Power Tower drop side is the one ride in the park they will not do.

It is a thrill! That's for sure!

I prefer the drop side of the Power Tower. You get a great view as you go up and while you're just hanging there at the top. And the freefall is just so much fun! If you like roller coasters, then you'll love Power Tower since it's sort of a similar experience. As for Maxair, it's the only spinny ride I can go on without getting sick or feeling bad for a while. You really don't even notice you're spinning and it's also a very fun ride. Lastly, Skyhawk is probably my favorite out of the 3 for several reasons: The lap bar makes you feel very exposed and unprotected which adds to the thrill, it is fun to look down at the people on the midway below you when you swing backwards, and I love airtime and this ride has lots of it. Make sure you go on these rides soon, since they're all a blast!

maXair isn't that scary. Your spinning and you don't realize how high you are. You also got the over the shoulder restraints.

Skyhawk, IMO, is the scariest. I love it, but I even get nervous at its highest point. All you have is the lap bar and your looking straight down at cement and they hold you there for a second. You also feel like your falling out. It's personally my favorite, but a lot of my friends won't ride it.

Power Tower isn't really that bad. The ride is very short. I've never been on the side that shoots you up, I've been on the drop side but it goes by very quick.

Power Tower is still the only ride that absolutely scares me, but LOVE it, and ride every visit. Skyhawk is my second 'scare the crap' ride- after riding several times, and you know what to expect, my kids and I upped the thrill. At the top of the swing, with your back to the ground, lean your head back---Excellent upside down view of the park or the lake, depending on your seat. At the top, facing the ground, lean forward, and look under your feet---It feels like you're going to roll out of the seat. MaXair is just a fun rush, always a must do!

Ok Thank you I'll definately try them (:

This is what I always tell my friends when they have second thoughts about riding. Cedar Point has an excellent team of engineers and mechanics that ensure the rides are safe on a daily basis. If you do not trust the company that is providing the thrills to keep you safe then you should visit a place you do trust. Then I always finish it with this. There is no other park on earth where I trust my life so confidently than Cedar Point.

Don't worry, I have COMPLETE trust in Cedar Fair especially Cedar Point. Isn't it true no one has ever died on a ride at Cedar Point. Yes, people have gotten injured but they were minor. There is no other park I trust more than Cedar Point. (:

Or actually, there WAS a big incident on the Dragster years ago, but other than that, Cedar Point has had almost no injuries, and if so, minor, in the 50+ years they've been running.

Cedar Point has one of the best track records.

The POWER TOWER DOWNFALL is the Best so you can scout out how long the lines for the MF and TTD. I like the SKYHAWK better then maXair, because it has Lap bars and not Shoulder Harnesses.

You forgot a 'the' before MaXair.

I can't speak for Power Tower, but ride MaxAir and Skyhawk. I used to be terrified at the thought of it too, but they are 2 of my favorite rides now. Not scary what so ever.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

I don't ride these rides because I have a weak stomach to most non-coasters, but I have ridden them all at least once...

MaXair- Pretty spinny and has a high thrill. If you enjoy rides like this, it will be very exciting to you.

Skyhawk- Similar to MaXair in a way, you got the height of the ride that can be pretty extreme. This ride I feel like has more to it and more exciting than MaXair.

Power Tower- I prefer the drop side better, more of a surprise and more exciting in my opinion. On the side that goes up fast, you do get a surprise when blasting off but I prefer the surprise from up top with the drop.

These 3 rides and WindSeeker are the only non-coaster thrill rides that I actually ride.

I rode Power Tower but maXair and Skyhawk's lines were really long.

What did you think about Power Tower, Taylor? Did you ride drop side or shot side?

I love the drop side... but nobody else in my family will ride it with me because they are not fond of the suspense of it. I have to ride that one by myself. lol.

Just had a question here. I know this topic is like three years old, but that's better than ten years old right? Anyway, why is that MaXair always has a longer line than Skyhawk? You would think both lines would be equally crazy in their own perspective. Also does anyone think that Skyhawk is under rated?
