Most embarrasing moments at the Point?

Just a fun topic to open up, laugh at ourselves, share each others mortifying moments and to relate. New to the Buzz recently so if this has been brought up before my apologies.

Okay, I've been spending the greater portion of all vacation time since I was 3 years old at Cedar Point. This also includes one summer working at the Boathouse (Famous Dave's now.) I'm an utterly clutzy person by nature. I've had my fair share of dips, trips and flips enjoying my time through the years at CP. This also includes many other blush worthy moments not induced by my natural inability to maneuver the ground beneath my feet. These stories include riding BS and choking on my gum and being pummeled on the back by my mother the whole time. Being absolutely mortified as a teen when the top of my bathing suit beat me to the bottom of a slide at Soak City. Tripping and falling in the middle of the main midway on my way to cash control after a day at work. Having my upper earring pierced into my head and bleeding everywhere on the former Mantis. This last incident included a dry heaving episode immediately following the blood courtesy of my boyfriend at the time. I'm sure that was very fun for people to watch. Not to mention all of the stories we get to see unfolding in front of us during our time at CP. To name a few moments... watching some poor child get almost eaten by a baby goat at the petting zoo. Watching an unfortunate marina worker end up falling in the water between the pier and the boat he was trying to tie. Witnessing a fight, silence and make up (out) episode from the couple in sky bucket in front of mine. I was embarrassed for the couple.

So, who of you is brave enough to share what has happened to you or the moments you've seen? Obviously we want to protect the privacy of those that cannot defend themselves. Please change any names to protect the innocent. All in good fun people, all in good fun. I have seen you trip, spill your food, toss your cookies. I have seen you running to the bathroom in that funny way trying to make it on time. We have all been there (in one way or another) and feel your pain.

When I was around 9, I was with some family friends at CP and I felt really sick after eating lunch, but I was too shy to say anything and I didn't want to make everyone have to go home...Well we were waiting in line for Thunder Canyon and I threw up silently and no one was really looking so I caught it in my hands and poured it out over the side of the queue, then tried to wipe my hands on my legs to clean them. I got very wet shortly thereafter, successfully cleaning up, and then I actually felt so much better. But man, I still get embarrassed for my little self being so shy back in the day and puking in my hands.
Also, I had an over dramatic step sibling who "fell" getting out of the bumper cars and we had to wait while they called the ambulance and closed the ride. I was so embarrassed because he was clearly faking and being dramatic. I felt so stupid having to admit that I was with him.

Oh no! I feel for your younger self, nice cover up though! Yeah, had a similar incident at the (Up Chuck) Wagon Inn years ago. I'm very grateful that they had bathrooms right there. I feel sorry for the CP worker on that bathroom shift that day. I was so embarrassed by the mess I made that I ran!*

I've also been to the Point with a friend or two over the years that I've felt angry and/or embarrassed to admit that I was with them. Including a couple times with my roommate when I worked there. Don't get me wrong, she was a very lovely girl for the most part. She was just...um, how to put this? Nobody home. I look back and laugh at the stories that I've collected and it's part of what makes me sentimental about CP.

* Side note- A long overdue apology to the nameless, faceless worker who had to clean up my mess. Forgive my embarrassment and shame over not being willing to admit what had happened. Karma got me in the end if that makes up for it in anyway, haha!

Probably the only thing that happened to me was my freshmen year of high school. I was a bass drum player in the marching band and while marching out of Cedar Point I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and ran into a trash can, knocking it over and falling down. I quickly stood up, got back into formation and acted like nothing happened! :)

Hurling, at the age of 8, off the Frontier Lift, and if that wasn't bad enough, put in a "time out" because obviously the rides were too much for me! (It had nothing to do with the crap food we just consumed)

And later in life, walking around all day with seagull poop on my shirt because I didnt notice it!

I tell this story with permission from my wife, as we both laugh at it. We visited the Point for 2 days earlier this month. On the second day, we were waiting in line for the Giant Wheel about mid-afternoon. The line, as usual, was slow moving. We both were using our phones as a diversion when I noticed the family behind us, of Indian subcontinent heritage, whispering to themselves and glancing at my wife. I put my phone away and paid closer attention to them. The mother worked up the nerve and leaned closer to us. She informed my wife that she had a rip in her pants. I turned her around and was shocked to find her butt cheek hanging out from an impossibly long rip. We both exclaimed expletives. I quickly got behind her as she took the sweat shirt she was carrying and tied it to her waist. Fortunately, we were staying at the Breakers, so it was a short journey back to the room for new pants. We couldn't stop laughing at how early the white moon was showing that day!

I wonder how many seagull poop stories there are out there? I always bring an extra shirt with me if I'm just making a day trip to the park. I've had a couple of friends end up being the unfortunate targets before but luckily (crossing my fingers, knocking on wood) I haven't been hit.

Oh no! Early moon over the point huh? It's so great that you and your wife can have a good laugh about it now. Thank goodness for the good Samaritan!

I've only been there a total of four times (once per year since 2011), so I don't have much to say. For my latest visit last August, probably either the time I almost took an unexpected second ride on Wicked Twister after my safety belt got jammed, or later that day when I threw up in Chick-Fil-A following a nauseating ride on Witches' Wheel.

Coco's Thunder Canyon incident reminded me of an embarrassing moment from last year. I was sort of marathoning TC on a hot July afternoon, wearing nothing but my swim trunks and some flip flops that I almost never wear. Walking briskly just past the entrance, I tripped and fell pretty much flat on my face. I brushed my face off to make sure I wasn't bleeding, then proceeded to the ride. After boarding the boat and buckling in, a kid sitting across from me said "what did you do to your knee?" I looked down, and my knee was bleeding sending blood down my leg. It was too late to get off the ride, so I just held my hand over my knee during the ride. Fortunately I was hit by almost all the waterfalls and the blood rinsed away, but the other people must have been a bit freaked out riding with a biohazard. I should have checked myself over more carefully before entering the ride. Needless to say I headed straight to the bathroom after the ride to clean myself off, and the bleeding stopped quickly. Though I still have a scar on my knee to remind me of the incident.

As for seagull droppings, I had a big one land in my lap two years ago while watching All Wheels Extreme. Luckily we were staying at Breakers so I went back for a quick change. The incident inspired me to approach Trevor Meyer before a show and ask him if he'd ever been hit by seagull crap while performing. I thought he would find my question amusing, but he gave me a completely serious answer. I'm paraphrasing 'Sometimes it can be a problem. It lands on the ground alot, but we just try to work around it.'

Nice topic, Raptor Ravenous.

Mine would have to be getting lost at the age of about 8 or 9 and being brought to the lost and found in kiddy kingdom. I was terrified talking to the employees who gave me a coloring book to keep me busy while we waited for someone to show up. When my mom showed up instead of a "thank goodness", I got berated and screamed at in Italian by my mother and aunt. I am pretty sure I would have been slapped if there were no workers around. LOL!

There's been a couple visits in the past where I've been chatting with my friends and ran into a trash can or a pillar.

Puking after Iron Dragon at park opening (after exiting the ride). Tho the other guests didn't see the 17~ rides on millennium before that which was the real culprit.

I sharted once many years ago. Freshman year, I believe. Luckily we were near the front of the park at the time. It was a pretty nice day, though, so no one was wearing a jacket, hoodie, sweathsirt, flannel, etc., for me to tie around my waist. I just had to do the poopy drawers walk back to the car, where I was able to do some cleanup, and find a clean pair of shorts. Looking back, that was probably the very beginning of my love/hate relationship with certain fast food joints.

Just this evening with my son he was daydreaming while we waited to get on Gemini. I hopped in and had my belt on and lap bar down and looked over at him and he's still there, staring off into space completely unaware that I'm on the ride...without him...

Yeah, lets just say that I now know every bathroom in the entire park, I think, due to eating on the all day dining plan last year. Umm, not a good idea to eat junk for a solid portion of the day after eating so mindfully and healthy for months prior. Probably should not have kicked the day off with a Pinks chili, cheese and mustard footlong either. Live and learn, pack extra clothes just in case.

Paisley- I pulled your son's trick there many times, haha! I did that so often as a kid that the rule became that I had to get in front of whomever I was riding with so they could push me forward if daydreaming. I'm laughing now because I didn't remember that till I just read your story. That was a great memory recall, thanks for sharing!

Anybody ever been waiting in line daydreaming of the girls that you're watching on Fun TV? What about the girl that's in the queue like two spaces away from you? Obviously, it's bad to make it look obvious, but If you're a guy, it's hard sometimes.

Is that last sentence supposed to be a pun? :)

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

It could be...lol. I keep forgetting to post this, but Opening day this year, me and my friends decided to take a break from the rain in the park and check out the new changes for Hotel Breakers. While we were in there, we went into the store and looked around, and before we left we were chatting with the staff about the changes. While we were chatting, I let out this loud fart! My friends were laughing their butts off, and I was embarrassed because I didn't think it would be that loud. The staff there thought it was funny and one of them spoke up and said it, "It's alright, It's natural." Lol

One for me would be back in 1996....Paddle Wheel Excursions line, full boat worth of people waiting for the next boat in the pre board area outside the station.

I hop up, and sit down on one of the many barrels they had used for themeing their roped holding area....so i was sitting there for a few minutes and noticed our boat coming with a full load. I go back to talking with my sisters and it got quiet. All of a sudden i hear "one, two, three!" the captain of the boat had all his passengers yell "GET OFF THE BARREL!" My face turned bright red, i was so embarrassed, everyone looking at me. Everyone laughing at me while they walked by. I'll never forget that moment lol.
