New observation tower

With the departure of Space Spiral, I would love to see a new observation tower in the near future (one that goes above TTD would be amazing). Question is, where would you like to see them place it?

I would like to see them place it at the sky ride corkscrew station. Obviously that wouldn't fit but it would make an awesome view. Realistically, I think between mean streak and Gemini.

If they do an observation tower, I'd love to see it done as a revolving restaurant like the one at Niagara Falls. With really quality food.

That said, I'd rather see the money go elsewhere.

I have no doubt that CP will replace Space Spiral with another observation platform due to the park's beautiful location. It would almost be a disgrace for CP to not have a ride/tower to showcase their entire resort area. Windseeker is not an equivalent replacement as it is a ride that doesn't let you take pictures or savor the view for as long as you desire.

For example, I highly doubt that Kings Island or Kings Dominion will remove their Eiffel Towers because they now have Windseekers. There needs to be a tower ride that all park guests no matter what height or age group can enjoy and experience together as a family.

Well if they did decide to remove the Eiffel Tower at KI at least they couldn't blow it up ;)

All of the former Taft parks definitely had the advantage of being planned from day one... As much as I'd like something like the Eiffel Tower or Oil Derrick, those are much harder to add into a park without a sort of centralized master plan like the Paramount parks have. I get the sense with CP it'll end up being a newer variant of the rotating tower.

Though this thread did make me recall the "World's Tallest Hooters" April Fools joke from a whiiiiile ago.

Wouldn't it be awesome to see them put in one of the new S&S towers that was shown at IAAPA?

Personally, I'd like to see a tower right tear the middle of the park. It needs be in way so that you can see everything, and won't have moments where all you're looking at is water.

You guys wish you knew my strategies.

We already have a tower, it's called windseeker :P

If it's down then you have giant wheel right nextdoor with a similar view haha

If all else fails you have the few brief seconds on any tall ride, or the whole trip of sky ride :P

I could see an observation tower coming, that would be very nice if it was at the back of the park.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

You could see it coming even better if they had an observation tower to observe from. ;)

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

What if that is next year's attraction and they happen to put it behind Power Tower? That to me is an ideal location. :)

Perhaps in that parking lot area to the left of Corkscrew's lift, but I have zero clue what that parking lot is actually used for.

I've always wondered about something going in the middle of Mean Streak's infield. They have no use for that huge queue area anymore. Mean Streak's a walk on even on busy days, although it could get in the way whenever they do decide to retire Mean Streak.

^ a good portion, if not all of Mean Streak's extra queue, was removed last year to make room for Eden Muse

Long time viewer of the site, but I finally decided to register in order to leave comments..

Not sure how others feel about it but I'd like to see a new tower go on Millennium Island when Dinosaurs Alive is hopefully removed at some point in the future.. I'm sure they could fit something in that space on that island and it would be a unique place since it's still slightly isolated from the main part of the park and it's near the middle as well..

Go Wings!!
Go Blue!!

From a skyline perspective, I'd love to see a tall tower at the back of the park near Mean Streak. A S&S coaster tower would be perfect if done right.

I concur; the precise geographical center of CP to be exact - or at least as close as you can get it if something already exists there. The big key being here though is that you wouldn't want it blocking the view of any other coasters or rides (ones of significance anyway).

Now that I'm looking at the map, I think another great spot for it would be on Millennium Island right behind/between Mantis and Iron Dragon. A towering structure would be in order of course, taking into account building for the future - and with a stipulation that it would ALWAYS be the tallest creation in the park.

Those new S&S towers are really cool. Both the coaster version or the gondola version would fit in nicely at CP. Having retail, restaurant and bar space at the top would be a real money maker and may help them decide to install one at some point down the road. Imagine the premium they can get on lunch or dinner if they have a restaurant and bar at the top.

I would actually install the gondola version in Challenge Park, charge a few bucks for the elevator ride to the observation deck and focus on the restaurant and bar operation. How cool would it be to have a level on the tower that serves as a nightclub for hotel and marina guests?

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
