October 14-15

My wife took me to CP on Monday August 22 for my first ever visit. I haven't been to a park in probably close to 20 years. From what I remember in my younger days (Kennywood, Geauga Lake (Pre-SF) and Conneaut Lake), I was really impressed with CP while driving to the back to park. We got on TTD in less than 10 minutes, my first ride at the park was the one I wanted to go there for. Turns out, it wasn't even my favorite. We saw some friends and rode Iron Dragon and Rougaru with them, then parted ways and made our way to Gate Keeper and Valravn...I was amazed how smooth and quiet those were. A couple rides on Raptor and checked the app for wait times. We did a few attractions like Matterhorn and called it a day.

So I was excited to get a 2017 Platinum Pass and the free fall ticket that came with it. My wife has some pretty serious health problems, and I wanted to get us both a good amount of time for Halloweekend stuff. So, I got us 2 nights at Breakers too.

Friday was incredibly busy. We rode Raptor and Gatekeeper is all, then went through some of the Scare zones before catching some of the Halloween shows. Skeleton crew was pretty cool. Ate some overpriced gross food at Pink's (I ate at one out west and mistakenly thought they were all the same). Did some more Halloween stuff and called it a night to warm up.

Next day, we got passes for $15 or so we went back. Early entry got us one ride on Valravn, then we went to Gatekeeper since the wait time said 5 minutes. That turned in to a lot longer while we waited on deck for them to send 3 empty cars to remove one. Once that was sorted out, the ride was just as nice as my first trip. We made visits to Millennium Force, Magnum, Gemini and several laps on the train waiting for it to get dark. Once it did, we went to the scare zones and went in Eternity Infirmary. Caught the shows and other zones on our way back to the room.

Now, we were happy with our room and everything at Breakers. It wasn't cheap, which isn't a complaint at all...I knew that going in. I paid for the convenience, which we got.

The complaint I do have is the tiny safe in the wall wouldn't hold all of our valuables and medication. We had to keep an unopened box of some pretty expensive medication in our suitcase, in a hidden zipper. Once we got home and unpacked, the box was gone. Seems like the cleaning crew went through our suitcases (I did notice some things while I was packing, but never though about the medication) and helped themselves to the prescriptions. My wife immediately called and they didn't act surprised. Must be a common thing. But you'd think with the money they charge, they wouldn't hire thieves to clean the rooms. The CP police took a report and was going to talk to the hotel, but nothing ever came of it. Pretty disappointed in that ordeal.

Hated to leave a pleasant weekend on a sour note. But I'm looking forward to going to the park again in 2017.

Glad you enjoyed your 1st ever CP 'in the park' experience. Sorry about your 'outside the park' items theft.

We should ask in the "Employee Lounge" if they even ask the question "Are you a thief?" anywhere in the application or during the interview.

Seriously though, that sucks. Happened to us one time in FL while visiting family. When we went back for a later visit we filled an old prescription bottle for oxycodone with laxative tablets. It disappeared from the room. I like to think karma had them stuck in the toilet for a while.

^When I was interviewed nope...They ask general questions, name a strength/weakness, name a time you dealt with a difficult customer, how did you resolve it, what are your goals, who is your daddy and what does he do, you know, the usual...

Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011

I guess you could use the strengths/weaknesses question to talk about your thiefing skills...
