Parking Question

I know normal parking is $15-$20. I believe there is a higher parking fee for RVs & busses. I may be leaving Sandusky a day earlier than originally planned, and have to bring my travel trailer to the park on Sunday. Do travel trailers fall under RV, or is that mean for motor homes? Also does a Platinum Pass cover these higher parking fees? I tried looking on the website but couldn't find much about parking...

A travel trailer is an RV.

The Platinum Pass covers parking at any price, aside from Preferred Parking and valet.

EDIT: I misunderstood your price question. You're asking if the pass covers parking prices for the RV... I would assume so, but that sounds like a question best answered by the park.

Reasons I ask if travel trailer = RV is because I've seen a couple RV parks that are literally only for motorhomes, and also my insurance company said they don't insure RVs but when I asked my agent about insuring my travel trailer she cleared it up with my insurance company and they do insure travel trailers as a rider on an existing auto policy....

I agree. You should contact the park with your question about parking prices.

I would think that since you can pay the difference for the "upgrade" to preferred parking, you should similarly be able to pay the difference for the RV price, if it applies. But, that's only a guess, which is all anybody who is not employed by CP will be able to give you.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that your platinum pass will get you and your travel trailer through the toll both with no extra cost. Most of the time I'm just waived on through since they assume I'm going back to the campground.

Just spoke with the Toll Booth at the park (why is there an attendant today? Park isn't even open!) and they said they no longer have separate price tiers... ALL parking is now $20, including RVs & busses. And so yes it would be covered with a platinum pass.

What, they're going to leave the gate unattended? People still come and go at Cedar Point every day, open or not, and someone is posted to make sure everyone is authorized. There's usually a CP policeman present there as well.

Very true, a lot of people go to the Marina during the week when the park is closed. Also, Bay Harbor traffic happens in the evening even in the winter.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Got it, that makes sense...

Another parking question... Where do they park campers & RVs? My truck & trailer is too long (over 43ft long total) to take up 2 standard spots; I'd be blocking the lane and it would be a bear to get out with cars all around and the narrow lanes.

Bus and RV parking area near the preffered parking lot. There's large buses and RVs there everyday. It's designed for large vehicles and there aren't any cars around it.
