Question About Housing

I know there are a bunch of posts regarding housing at Cedar Point, but I have been unable to find pictures. Does anyone have some pictures of the housing that is available? Also, I would like to bring a desktop computer. Is there room for it? I'm mainly looking at Bayside, but input on the other housing options would be helpful, thanks.

I would also love pictures of the housing. I managed to find these on the internet. Anyone else have any more?

well I only had the presence of mind to take one picture, and I lived in the commons dorms.

that was my corner of the room. The room consisted of 3 beds (1 bunk bed, 1 normal bed). Most rooms consist of 2 bunk beds. When it comes to commons dorms, I don't think it would be possible to fit a desktop computer. I have never been to bayside apartments though, so that I could not tell you. I have seen people who brought desktop computers with them to the commons apartments, though I have no idea how the internet works there.

There wasn't Wi-Fi in the dorms?

I've gotten my desktop computer to fit in college dorms. How do Cedar Point dorms compare to an average college dorm, as far as size? I hate to part with my desktop for an entire summer, as I do a lot of gaming and photo/video editing.

And when did you process in? My date is May 18th, will that be too late to get in commons dorms?

I process in on May 16th, so I'm wondering the same.

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

i highly doubt you could fit a desktop computer in the commons dorms. actually, im 99.9% sure that won't work. you might be able to fit it in the commons apartments, again unlikely, unless you want to leave it on like the table in the living room? i've been in bayside like once, but i still dont think there is room or space to put a desktop computer unless you plan on bringing your own desk? yeah..i just dont think that's gonna work..

My roommate had a desktop in our room the last two summers its a tight squeeze though and his was a smaller desktop

may 18th won't be too late to process into commons. We had people coming in June too so you'll be fine.

The dorms are a little smaller than most college if its just two people. But the WIFI was really bad in the 1500s. 1400 it was good. There is also a place where you can get on a desktop but you're restricted about 30-1 hr on it.

Are there double rooms in Commons?

Also, say my friend and I want to live with each other, but he is processing in a week before me. Is it possible to still get a room together?

Yes its possible, when he processes into housing just make sure lets the housing supervisor know and they will save a spot for you.

you can only save a spot for two weeks though

1400s is guys and has 4 person rooms but you can have 3 and still be good.

1300s is girls and they are 3 person rooms.

1500s is guys on the first and third floors and girls on the second and all of the rooms are 4 person rooms.

There is Wi-Fi, however it's pretty iffy in most places. Last season (2010) it was down for awhile b/c ppl were supposedly pirating music/movies... I could only pick up a steady signal in the rec center when it was not crowded (or in the small lounge areas in commons dorms every blue moon). Sometimes it's easier to just walk the couple blocks to McDonald's with my laptop (no plugs there though). In short, wi-fi kinda sucks

wouldn't suggest a desktop, and if you are gonna be coming in mid may and do not have any roommates you plan on staying with i would suggest looking out for rooming groups on fbook to come in february and try to interview ppl to get a roommate and if they arrive before you they can reserve your bed for you when you get there

Found a layout of a Bayside apt (not the nicest but it's something, right?: http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i438/alexaraye09/Cedar%20Point/...260148.gif)... I'm assuming that the beds are bunked because there are 7-9 people per unit.

There would be room for a desktop in Bayside but not in Commons dorms because there is only one small corner desk shared by 3-4 people.
Besides that, the Commons 1500 dorms are the best IMHO, next to Bayside. Less roommates than the apartments, you don't have to clean up the bathroom behind other people, "cleaner", and newer than the Golds/Cedars dorms.

Do you know if there are double rooms in any of the buildings?

no double rooms, the minimum number of people per room is 3. And that is just a bunk bed and a single bed

Hate to jump off topic guys but do we get free tickets for family and friends? I know most parks do but I'm curious if Cedar Point does.
