RMC Streak Photo Update - May 7, 2017

^Slightly off topic, but since you mentioned it, it's been reported on another forum that LR has been testing consistently for the past couple of days.

I feel like if there is ANY kind of "launch" on the midcourse, I could picture it being drive tires ramped up to around 15-20 mph, and that they would more or less be there to give the train a little boost after a midcourse stop.

I agree it took 2 months to lay a small amount of track, but at that point they were still putting in ledgers, profiling the ride and cutting the ride down. At this point it looks like most of the ledgers are done and thride has been profiled except for the lift hill......there is no way in the form we are seeing this ride it is going to take 9 months to build and 1 month to test. There is more to come that we are not seeing or understanding to this point. If this was the ride, then we basically know the whole thing except height and speed. if that was the case they would just announce it I would think.

More to come.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for "more to come." While there is likely to be something we haven't anticipated, anticipointment can be a real killer. It could be just as likely that they need the extra time for updates to Frontier Town that will open along with this coaster. Or it could also be that RMC wanted to use their time more efficiently since it appears they may have several projects for 2018, while they had nothing in 2017 besides manufacturing the free spin track.

Now that RMC has figured out the bugs on Lightning Rod's launch system, Cedar Point feels comfortable with a mid course launch.

Cedar Point has had this coaster planned out well before RMC saw the problems on Lightning Rod's launch.

And I also believe that this ride won't take 9 months to finish. I think the "more to come" is a huge revamp of frontier town and possibly connecting that dead end midway. I wouldn't count on dueling coasters or more than one coaster.

I don't necessarily think that RMC has anything to do with figuring out "bugs" in the launch system. I believe at this point it's a park/vendor problem.

No matter, I'm 100% confident this ride will not include a launch as a feature. I think at the very least MS is shaping up to be a taller, faster, and much more dynamic version of it's sister coaster and early RMC conversion, New Texas Giant. And ain't nothing wrong with that. NTG makes it all the way around just fine, with energy to spare. I see nothing but high thrills ahead for our ride.

Just my opinion but I think "more to come" is just a phrase to keep all of the speculators excited. I think it just refers to finishing the coaster project and the RR crossing area of FT. Some speculate about connecting the dead-end midway, I assume they mean towards the Gemini \Slingshot area. I don't think that will happen, as of now I haven't noticed any survey stakes or paint markings throughout that area at least what I see from the train. The path would go behind Boneville where there is much clutter & storage of Halloweekends stuff.

Or, we can just stroll through Boneville, they even have a restroom!

I know this probably isn't the case but I just keep coming back to the fact that I cant imagine how the first drop is going to connect to the small speed bump and then the completed first hill. What if everything we see built now is the second half of the ride that will include a launch up over the bunny hill into the completed first hill?

Could be completing everything inside the structure now because it takes longer and then building out the lift hill/first half of the ride from scratch...new footers and course of the coaster.

I acknowledge this most likely isn't the case but I can't wrap my mind around that first drop being able to pull out in time to hit that bunny hill. Any pictures that could help me comprehend it?

^ I think some of you are confusing the very tiny bunny hop with the small hill that comes after the MCBR.

This has been brought up multiple times in this thread alone. I will post the photo again.

Twisted Colossus has an identical tiny bunny hop after it's first drop followed by a large hill.

"Wild and unruly" is from Cowboy Take Me Away by the Dixie Chicks. I knew that sounded familiar.

Thanks for posting that 2nd pic Final Force 505. I didn't know Twisted Colossus had the same speed hill. I looked up a review and it sounds intense. If elements like that and the doubleups work well this ride will be amazing.

Dixie Chicks: The Ride? Guess I'll bring earbuds while I wait in line.

ROUNDABOUND.

As I only get to enjoy the building of this amazing coaster from 1300 miles away , I am still trying to figure out how the coaster gets from under the main structure on lap 3 to under hill #3. Too excited to just wait until it is done. I want to know every new detail asap lol. Thank you in advance.

Other than lightning rod, due to delays and wildfire being overseas, what are the production timelines for the other RMC rides? Not nearly as long as RMC mean streak. It takes longer to retrofit an existing coaster than to build from scratch. More to come is another rmc coaster.

In 2018, Son of Mean Streak will mount the RMC Meanstreak footprint in all its streaky glory.

After a duel, Son of MeanStreak pulls into a creepy shed right next to Meanstreak's MCBR that's twice the size of Mean Streak's MCBR just because...there is a projector and stupid music. Then out of nowhere SOMS surprises you with drop track technology to free fall straight into the haunt attraction below it. Boom!! CP repurposes the haunt themes from the bone yard to combine pirates, and cable cars and dead mean streak - oh my!

The train re-Launches backwards out of madam whatever's, straight into a bunch of head chopper tunnels, featuring a state-of-the-art anamotronic Richard Michael Crowley hurling tombstones from U.R. DADE . Did I mention they are lit by glow in the dark paint and black light? Don't forget your old school paper 3-D glasses.

Zero g-stall. Helix. Airtime.

Welcome to Alaska.

I'm good with the go browns. That's about it. The halloween building serves it's purpose and wasn't to impressed with the shed.

Through my sacasim my point is this: Fanboys and coaster geeks are cracking me up on this one. All of the self-made YouTube videos and speculation is producing a completely different viral and social marketing plan for RMCMS. It's intelligent on behalf of the market dept....funny, bizarre and annoying all in the same way.

While clever marketing is great...its completely lame if the CP marketing department trolls the fan base with teases unrelated to the actual ride. I would go so far as to say mystic timbers is this way. Generate marketing buzz about shed...ignore a spectacular ride...result: people were obsessed with the shed, rather than how awesome the actual ride is...they may have been disappointed.

I think mean streak is going to be awesome and my second point is this...

When they demoed The mill race log flume and put up the sign for Raptor. That was awesome, people stood just gawking at the plans posted on site. They told everyone to go stop by the site. Marketing made a promotion video you could buy. Passed a flyer to everyone through the gate about the ride for the upcoming year. Then they even had a time lapse construction video for purchase.

I miss the old days when there was a pattern of expectation and clear marketing. The social marketing can reach a point where it's just annoying.

I love the old promo videos and how they told stories and origins. Hopefully they will make a neat announcement for RMC Mean Streak.

In reference to "#they're coming," there was a rumor that Cedar Point was eyeing Cavalry as a name for RMC Streak right? That would explain the word "they're" instead of the dueling pipe dream.

I have a feeling that the "They're coming" tease has something to do with the trains.

That's a good call, fits the "trolling category."

"They're" Trolling List
Trains.
Ride Plans?
Name Reveal?
RMC Construction Crew?
CP executive team dressed like prospectors and planning a press conference?

IMO: you can tell they're trolling because they released 2 videos back to back. It would be different if it was a video followed up with a leak of something relevant to the video and ride.

Example. They're coming...a week later CP releases a photo of the trains. They're wild and unruly...a week later....teaser released related to theming.

Ignoring the steel elephant in the room is probably because they do not want people saying..."oh we can wait to go to cedar point until next year when the new ride comes out."

Another good question is when will we have an announcement and what the heck took them so long?
