Shows!!!

I'm sorry: i am in love with CP, but the shows DO exist as well as the rides ( I am saying this because some people think Cedar Point is all about the rides and the shows are "irrelevant"). Im all about rides 70%, shows 30%. I am posting because I want to say that I am very very hugely hugely very disappointed that they took Luminosity away
I think Luminosity was their best show and the vertical impact is nice and all but it does not even compare to Luminosity, like, AT ALL. I think it was a VERY bad mistake for them to get rid of Luminosity. And I don't care what anyone says about the all wheels extreme stadium, that show was SO awesome and now it is gone. The new Lusty Lil's show is kind of bad, and last year's was awesome. The rest are the same so they don't matter. RIP Luminosity and All Wheels. Vert impact is just so so .

Did you forget to trash Fire and Ice ( the luminosity replacement show) or was it so beneath your expectations to even warrant a comment?

Luminosity had run its course and needed a makeover. They need to change things to keep them fresh. Fire and Ice is much better and its a better venue for it instead of squeezing it on a midway. I like the changes and was glad to see them.

I saw the Fire and Ice show Saturday night and thought it was excellent. Very well played and sung, they have some good talent on stage.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Luminosity is no more? What a shame. I enjoyed staying till close and then some for it.

The shows are definitely not irrelevant. They keep people out if the ride lines. :D

I have only seen the first half of Fire and Ice so far and was very impressed! Something about it feels very nostalgic, and it also reminds me of Luminosity's 2015 show.

Is there a live band playing on the beach at night after the Fire and Ice show is over? Over the last few years we've really enjoyed sitting out on the beach by the bonfires, having some drinks, and watching the live bands play. They were never really good bands, but we found it to be a fun atmosphere and was a great way to end our day. We're not much into DJ's or club music, so those parts of the beach didn't really appeal to us.

If all the players are ready...at the sound of the bell, ROLL EM!

I haven't seen Fire and Ice show yet, but want to now with all the good reviews about it so far. I seen the Vertical Impact show and that was fun to watch! I also seen the new country show at the red garter saloon near Rougarou and Millennium Force. If you're a country fan like me, then you'll like this show.

So I found out that Fire and Ice actually has two different shows. Their 8:30 show has different music than their 10:00 one. Very interesting! I've seen the entire 10:00 show, now I have to see the 8:30 one!

Yup, two different one hour long shows.

I like it a lot.

I would daresay it is one of the best, if not the best, band ever at CP...

I hope that 10:00 show is much better then as I was not impressed with the 8:30. And to be honest it was more just the interaction, or really lack there of, of the two main performers. They seemed like they had no interest in getting the crowd involved.

I'll try to catch it again, one time is never enough to really make a judgement of something afterall, especially a live performance.

Or early on. New cast, new script, new music, all that. I can’t speak for the quality of the show, I haven’t seen it, but usually it takes a minute to relax into it and find what works. I’m going to CP this afternoon but it’s supposed to pour then clear up mid evening. I may try to catch it if it’s on. Unless of course the conditions are ideal for a hurry up ride session.

Caught the 8:30 pm Fire and Ice show tonight. I left very impressed. The singers/ musicians were top notch. The musical selection was also great, playing songs from about 4 different decades including current hits. I like the quaintness of the outdoor venue and the astroturf and sand pit in front of the stage felt different than other shows. About 25 kids to the left of the stage seemed to love the bubbles flying all over the air also! My only complaint would be the length of the show and felt some songs were simply not needed. How did these performers follow up with a 10pm show immediately afterwards? God help them! I got up after the 45 minute mark because of being uncomfortable from sitting on the ground the entire time. I do highly recommend this show though because of the energy of the musicians and the acrobat and fire twirler weren't that bad either :)

Oh no! Fire and Ice is fine and dandy at all, but it still does not even compare to Luminosity. For a number of reasons.

I don't think it ran its course. if you bring new songs/dances each year. There is no need for changes, except for the songs and dances of course. That would be like saying Cedar Point has run its course because it has coasters. If you got a great show that pumps people up and makes 'em dance/happy, why get rid of it? Yes Fire and Ice is just fine, etc, but since Luminosity was better if it ain't broke don't fix it. Plus I'm also talking about the all Wheels extreme show in addition.

I saw the 8:30 Fire and Ice show and was very impressed! It's definitely my favorite out of the the two! I do wish there were chairs though...

So they eliminated Luminosity and All Wheels Extreme, two shows with LOTS of seating, and added Vertical Impact and Fire & Ice which require viewers to either sit on the ground or stand after a long day at Cedar Point? Where is the love for actual adults? Especially Fire & Ice, which is meant to appeal to an older audience with its musical selections. Put some benches around the back of the viewing area!

Fire & Ice is a great show with lots of super talent (Thanks, Mo!), but Luminosity, while not my cup of tea, was an EXPERIENCE. Where is the post show dance party? Don't tell me on the beach, sand-dancing is a youngster's game.

Also SUPER dissapointing is the elimination of the live bands on the beach in the evenings from last year, again, with LOTS OF SEATING at the beach picnic tables, also eliminated this year, and the awesome glowing swag available for FREE on the beach last year, also eliminated. Nearly everything has been scaled down or outright eliminated this year, including availability of the on-beach fires and the amazing parade-like show with the glowing inflatables put on several times a night last year, now gone.

It is sad that the park has back-slid so far from the truly amazing beach-front entertainment that gave a stay at the breakers last year a true beach resort feel, well worth the price of the hotel room.

Finally, on Wednesdays and Saturdays for the first week and a half of this year's half-hearted beach party, at the gazebo attached to the Sand Bar, was an amazing old-school jazz show, featuring a trio (keyboards, string bass, and drum kit) with real talent for improvisation, who happen to play beach music at CP Shores during the day. I went there yesterday SPECIFICALLY to see them perform again, and was told that they had been cancelled for the season because they weren't "in the budget". It's a shame that such a unique and entertaining act couldn't be accommodated in the budget, or even promoted in the first place so that they could develop a real following. I discovered them by accident last weekend, and I am so glad I made a specially trip out on Wednesday to see what unknowingly was to be their final show.

I agree 100% on the energy and interaction that Luminosity had. I know Vertical Impact was supposed to incorporate parts of Luminosity, so I was hoping the DJ would be one of those "parts".

I always thought the DJ and dance party at the end of the night was one of the best things about CP. It gave the park a great nighttime atmosphere and IMO the best aspect of the show.

Since I won't be going to CP this year (unfortunately), can anyone confirm that there is no DJ anymore in either shows (Fire and Ice or Vertical Impact)? I haven't seen any pictures/videos of any DJs or dancing online.
