Soak City Parking lot?

Is it still available to park At the old Soak City parking lot? I always park here during the season and enter at the soak city entrance to CP, by the magnum.

As of yesterday the answer is no.

The CPS parking lot is an active construction zone. I would say it will be like that until the water park opens.

On opening day, I asked to park back there, and they just gave me a Breakers parking pass

I brought this up awhile back in another thread and some people here did not believe it because they never saw it.

In July (peak season) when we stay at the park for 7 days, the park was limiting parking in soak city to soak city guests with a soak city parking permit. As the lots were near full to capacity, there were lot attendants posted to check for resort and soak city parking permits and actively turning people back without one.

As the park is expanding its preferred parking program, it only makes sense that this will be in effect during peak season, especially with a newly renovated water park. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that people were using Soak City as their own preferred parking lot when the water park doesn't open until after CP does and the lot is already several rows deep at park opening.

Besides, parking at the Marina is closer, just tell the attendant your going to Bay Harbor, Famous Dave's or the Marina Store.

Might have been me last summer. A few times we arrived at the SC lot around 9 for ERT then headed back to the car at 10 for swim gear and 10:30 ERT at SC then back to dry park around 2-3. Under that scenario it seems perfectly reasonable to park in that SC lot.

I park back there quite often, but I also tend to avoid the busiest days so parking isn't really an issue.

Looks like people are parking in the CPS parking lot today. Also, the park is tracking cars that park in the marina parking lot now. Dockholdes were issued decals to put on their cars to show they can park there. You also have to scan your pass now to enter the marina parking lot.

Parking in the marina lot if you are not a dockholder will not be as easy plus you are using up spaces that dockholders pay for.

Don't know if that will work this year. They are scanning Marina passes at the gatehouse this year to verify that you belong in the Marina and everyone has a decal they must put in their back window of their car. No decal, you might get ticketed or towed

Hey Pete, did you take your boat out today? Thought I saw you go by our boat on the way out the marina. You have a Rinker?

Yes I did! I'm at Put in Bay right now. Sorry that I didn't see you, I would have waved hello! BTW, they have new season drink glasses at the Surf Lounge. Four ounces more and only $8 for a refill. Limited availability, so if you want one, get it soon

I also avoid busy days and have never had a problem. I really hope I can still park "in the back" as we say and use the magnum gate. I like going back there because the drive around the park lets me scope out the lines and see if maverick is running. Plus the water is beautiful on that side with the sun in the evening on the way out (For those 8pm closings)

Thanks for the info! Heading back into the park to eat but think I'll head over to the Surf Lounge for a cocktail before dinner. Our boat's name is the Ride On. We are off your port bow on your way out the marina.

I just parked my car there a few hours ago. The back third of the lot is filled with a bunch of rmc and cedar point shores stuff.

SV ruins all other rides.

We aren't usually early enough risers for ERT but we often park in the SC lot for the same reason. We go between the two parks many days.

We parked back there Friday and with all the activity with construction, I'm not sure that the parking attendant was supposed to let us back there in the morning. There were several speed bumps where construction was under way on Perimeter Road. We got some good views, but I can't help but to think that they were not ready to be open to the public back there yet. It was a mess with construction vehicles, materials, etc. Would be interesting taking a camper back there Friday afternoon. :-)
