I was in Sandusky this weekend on Christmas business. It was my first opportunity to see the skyline at Cedar Point since the MF towers started rising. All I can say is WOW! That skyline has changed forever! I also got a chance to see the MF video at the home of a good friend, who is the director of the ECVCB. The video was very impressive, and looked expensive to produce. Pretty cool. I was also very glad to see that once again CP is lighting the coasters and some selected ride lights for the Christmas season. That's such a cool thing for them to do.
BTW - If you are in Sandusky, don't forget to pick up your Toft's Eggnog and your Christmas Pretzel! :)

At winter time, besides Christmas, do they light any of the rides at night, or is the whole place usually dark with the exception of plane beakons?

It usually dark except for the beacons on the various towers. A few years ago they started lighting the coasters as a Christmas "gift" to the people of Sandusky and the Lake Erie Islands.
