Winter Chill Out 2018

On Twitter Tony posted a link to a survey for Winter Chillout planning. One of the options was “Laundry Services” he cracks me up sometimes. Thanks Tony!

Well.... maybe SOME of us are laundry enthusiasts. >:I

Actually, I think seeing the Laundry Services would be a pretty legit stop. I have never seen a large commercial operation like that with the specialized machines they have. Would be pretty interesting, much more so than the retail warehouse tour last year.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Pete is right...depending on the equptment they have it can be quite impressive... towel folders, tunnel washers, multi ton tilting washers, press machines and manglers can be impressive as long as you don't have to maintain or us them every day haha

I've seen CP's laundry and its very impressive. Wouldn't mind seeing it again. It would also be nice to see the commissary, kitchens, and police station. Places the general public never sees.

And don't knock the warehouse tour, didn't see much but learned a lot of interesting things.

When you have an amusement park the size of a small city, I think that makes just about any behind-the-scenes location an interesting topic.

I just want to see where Walter White's lab is in the laundry service building ;)

But as others have said, I'm down for whatever, the Winter Chill out is always a fun stroll through the park, plus it's a kind of cool experience seeing how much we contribute to charity events each year. I remember the first Pointbuzz Winter Chill event and Walt's history presentation. To see it go from that to this gigantic event is extremely cool!

Lol. Clearly everyone is more open minded than I. At some point in the past I passed through a downtown Marriott’s laundry facility and it was just a bunch of really big front loaders.

Now a peak at the (presumed) tunnels under those large manholes on Perimiter Rd. would interest me.

Maybe a stop at laundry services would be a good idea. It may be in response to some of the staffing issue complaints/ suggestions and may be good for the enthusiasts community to see more of what goes on behind the scenes to keep the park running.
We obviously know it’s not just ride-ops and food workers, but there’s more than likely more to it than we can even really think of.
So maybe some tours to the laundry could help shed some light.

Perhaps Tony may suggest that the Possible PB charity work during next fall be in the laundry services, at least that would be warmer than out on the midway ;)

So, you want to see poop?

Sewers?! Now you are talking!

How about a tour this year of the new boardwalk area by the beach, Breakers Expansion (if done), the torn down AWE Stadium area, the Wardrobe Dept. , and the now completed Steel Vengeance station? Yeah, the laundry area might do. I'll take ANY of those things.

Obviously the SV site is the main event but I'd I also love to walk the new boardwalk path. The laundry would be interesting I guess.

CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini

Along with -of course Steel Vengeance- I actually did mark the laundry option ...I think it would be interesting and it's somewhere I haven't seen before. We've done the train station (which was awesome) and the Ballroom (like taking a step back in time) on prior trips

I think Cedar Point Shores would be FREEZING on a cold windy day, as it sits at the water/Lake Erie.

Whatever they decide upon, We will be very happy to be in the park for a few hours.
Just remember as much as we love getting inside the park and whatever 'sneak peeks and treats' they let us in on, the true cause/reason is to raise an incredible amount for the charity (it has been changed to keep the $ in Ohio :D)

I plan on being there!

For the question about food, tour, etc. I had to let them know how amazing the boneless wings and pasta was for 2016. I'd be all for that again.

TwistedWicker I'm glad I'm not the only one who brought up those wings! The wings and the cookies from 2016 were pretty tasty

^ soooo good!

I also would said I'd like a tour of Steel Vengeance, and the maintenance shop on Cleveland road. I had to let them know that the stop at the engine house in 2016 was a huge hold up for every single group. I thought they kept the groups moving very nice this past year.

The hold up was not the engine house, it was the guide. A good guide will politely interrupt the speaker, thank him/her and tell the group it is time to move on. Not always an easy thing to do. I know because I've been a guide many times. A good guide keeps the group together and on time.

The engine house was an interesting place and it was easy to lose track of time. I wouldn't mind going back there.

I posted this on Twitter, too. Would anyone else find it helpful if WCO was the Sunday before Presidents Day? Would allow easier travel for some of us long-distance fans... That would let us make a weekend out of it at Castaway Bay.

True, but would kind of screw up the Presidents Day Weekend plans for the park employees and their families.
