# of Maxair swings?

I heard some interesting comments last weekend while at Knoebels and was wondering if any of you folks know how many swings are in the maxair cycle.

I know there are a few folks around here who may have seen the ride in run in person and heck, some of you web cam watchers may have it figured out by now.

From the talk I heard it may actually end up being a much longer cycle than Delirium. Anybody know?

Not sure for number of swings but I did count while in line to get my season pass but its about 2 mins of ride time so it should be good. That is from right when it starts and then when it stops.

First rollback on Dragster July 23 2003 since then 15

I believe you get 3 full swings I dont know for sure though.

Delirium gets you the three full swings with one of them having a little extra "oomph." I'm not sure if this is the standard ride cycle or if it's something PKI requested as either longer or shorter than normal.

Given Cedar Point's uber-short cycles on the flats currently operating I wouldn't be suprised if it's cut short on maXair.

They finally changed the cycle or started doing double cycles on Super Himalaya last season. That one did have a ridiculously short cycle. Welcome to Super Himalaya...thank you for riding Super Himalaya. That ride usually never has a line, so why not? Not sure if any others have changed.

I'm told that this one parks faster and raises the floor much faster, so that will help with capacity.

Question

Does Maxair swing completely upside down or does it not complete a full swing?

Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.

No it does not go all the way around.

BUT imagine if it did!

Cedar Point could of done that to be unique.

101 on Magnum and counting...

I sincerely believe this ride cycle is significantly longer than Delerium. I found it to be much more enjoyable, not only in the length of the cycle, but the visuals offered. Seeing Wicked Twister and Raptor upside-down, and then Dragster laying on it's side certainly added to the ride experience.

I think I'd pass on riding maXair if it were to do a complete loop around. I've been on enough of those nasty Intamin Looping Starships to know that I don't find it thrilling or fun to be hung upside down in one of those uncomfortable torture devises. The same goes for those Zamperela rides that like to make your head want to explode (Hawk, Mixer, Rotoshake).

I watched it run for an hour about a week ago. You get about 5 swings at the top heights of the ride, with about 4 swings from start to the maximum heights and 4 to get back down to the "park" position.

Laura

Then that would be longer than Delerium. Good.
