2016 Season Passes on sale

Alex-make sure you're entering the number correctly and that none of your numbers has rubbed off. That's happened to me in the past. I actually scan mine now with my QR reader app on my phone when I have to enter it for anything so I know I've got the right number.

Once you have your correct pass number, you can also store it on the Passholder Portal under My Account. Or, anywhere else you want, really. :)

The $23 for unlimited drinks is tempting except for the fact it's still a souvenir cup. I would much rather the perk tied into my pass like the dining plan. Even if the drink was a smaller 12oz or 16oz cup. I would much rather that.

Fastlane Plus is also a nice perk, however I will just have to plan on going a day others who have renewed want to use theirs. It would be annoying being the only one is a group with a Fastlane and none of my friends will spend cash on a fastlane with the amount of time we spend in the park during the season.

I had a problem when I entered my card number too. I first time entered my home number and they couldn't find it. When I entered my cell number it worked.

This is an awesome deal that I will certainly be taking advantage of. You're saving over $60 by renewing your Platinum + dining plan. Then, you're getting a Fast Lane Plus which can be valued at $95.

Just a warning to all about the Fast Lane Plus: I wouldn't recommend waiting until the last weekends to use it. Kings Island ran this same deal last year (though the FL+ was only good on Sunday), and some of the Fast Lane lines were the same length as the regular lines on the 2nd to last Sunday.

Am I missing something or as I get older but still love to ride, the Dragster. Is the senior pass still available?

Only for Platinum..

This happened to me two years ago Alex. I realized the problem was because I purchased my pass through MIA website instead of the CP site. I think I had to renew on the site that I bought the pass from (or maybe where the pass was processed?), which makes me sad because I'm not totally sure if you would get the CP perk when renewing somewhere else, even though it's a platinum pass. I can't verify this for sure because I just bought a new pass that year instead, but I think that's what happened. I don't know if the fast lane plus benefit would be good for all parks or just when renewing through CP, as I haven't looked into it much.

Anyway, if you go to other CF parks and renewed or processed through them, that might be your problem.

Your pass is registered with the park it was purchased through, whether online or on-site. That's where you're supposed to process it through and renew. It's possible to do this on-site but that technically involves transferring your Platinum Pass to the new park. If you look at the bottom right of the back side of the card, it shows the park of issue.

Unfortunately, this also means that you likely are not able to purchase tickets, meals, etc. with passholder discounts at other parks online. Kings Island had the CoasterStock ticket portal set to verify you had an active pass for the passholder event ticket. Mine from CP didn't work - they had to deactivate the verification.

As for renewal perks, you should get whatever is available at the park of renewal only.

According to Michigan's Adventure's website, the Fast Lane Plus perk is also redeemable at Cedar Point, which is nice because the park is only open a couple more weekends.

When I bought my Platinum Pass last year, I bought it through MA's website, but had it processed at Cedar Point because I went early enough in the season that MA wasn't open yet to get it processed. I'm assuming the same thing would have happened if I go to Knott's in January.

Many of the problems above with processing/purchasing at different parks have been resolved this year.

In the past it was often difficult even to get a replacement pass, and also involved a charge. This year we have experienced processing at both KI an CP with new and renewal platinum passes from online and on-site purchases and have not had any problems. Even the dining plan was a non-issue, which was a nightmare last year.

I renewed mine at the park yesterday, and they gave me a new pass and had me take a new picture. They also told me that the dining plan is not working, and that I needed to wait until next year to renew the dining. They didn't tell me that the new pass that they gave me would not work for this year, and that I had to use my current pass for the remainder of this year. I tried to use the new one to get a meal, and it wouldn't work. I had given my mom my old pass to take back to the hotel, so the woman at the food stand gave me my meal anyways, and told me that I needed to go to guest services. When I got to guest services they told me that I need to continue to use my old pass for the remainder of this season, and they also gave me an all day dining plan.

Did they process it as a renewal (check the receipt?) and did you get your free Fast Lane Plus voucher for 2015?

Yes, it was renewal, and I did receive the Fast Lane.

Question for those who have renewed online...
How does the Fast Pass Plus portion of things work?
Does it give you a printable voucher that you take with you to the park and then redeem on the day you want to use it?

^ Yes, that is exactly how the Fast Lane Plus works for renewing your Platinum Pass. Good any day that is not a Saturday.

I renewed mine last Friday at the park and I was given a new pass as well. Prior to that, they were on the phone with someone for about five minutes because they did not know how to do it. I wonder if they are going to require everyone renewing a pass to get a new one with a picture taken. Not very efficient. I was charged $180 +tax for the Platinum renewal and $99 +tax for the meal plan. $292.88 total

They told me the meal plan wasn't working, so they wouldn't let me renew it.

How would they know that it wouldn't work for next season? I got charged for it and won't be happy if it is not working next year. They botched up my renewal last year and ended up adding my 2015 dining plan to my 2014 pass. I wouldn't had known if I had not contacted the park about what I was being charged for the renewal. They looked up my pass and discovered it and fixed it for me.

Those getting new passes at the park as they new cards with the new Cedar Fair logo on them or just that same old card?
