A Few Q's for the CP Experts

i am taking the 3 hour tour to CP on June 20

1. where is the best place to park and if it isnt the main lot, how do you get to it??

2. is there still a coupon on the back of the parking ticket that can be used towards lunch at a CP restaurant, if so how much??

3. is 9 AM early enough to be here??

4. and the big question, should i go on MF first?? i know this isnt the kind of question you guys like to answer but please listen to what i have to say and let me know what you think. i was thinking about not going on it first cause it will probably be an hour wait while almost all other coasters (except raptor, mantis) are walk ons. i was thinking hit things that will be waits later (magnum, DT, MS) as mill force will only be an hour wait certain times in the day anyway and the other may be 15-30 mins or more. is these thoughts way off?? please let me know what you think and thanks for everything guys, i made a fan club card that is pretty cool for me and my cousin but i dont think you guys want in the coaster cousins club

Others will have their own plan, here is mine.
1) go through the LEFT parking booth and stay left and go all the way around back and park in the soak city lot. This is the best place for me to park, but doesn't get me in the Marina gate if I'm looking to ride MF first. When doing that I park in the main lot and move my car back there later in the day.

2)I have season parking, but believe that this question has been answered with a NO. Someone please correct me on this if needed.

3) Some people feel 9:00am is early enough. I always leave early so I can be at or near the front of the line at 8:00am. Again, it's a personal thing.

4) We always go on MF first. Even if everyone is running over there, you can usually get on pretty qiuckly. For this I suggest the Marina gate. As far as the other rides being walk ons. This really depends on the day of the week, the weather, and other factors such as the time of day and whether or not any large groups have outings planned that day.

Everyone has a different game plan when going to CP. We like to ride MF 1st ;) Since you only have a 3 hour tour, you will be sorely dissapointed if you miss MF.

That is a pretty good game plan. Me and Jeff (screechnowl) have pretty much the same plan. The only difference is we park in the Main Lot, or we went to the marina gate (opening day)(ARG!!! the ticket/season pass scanner people at the gate sucked).

thanks everyone, but i think i need to explain the 3 hour tour thing a little better, i meant i would be taking the 3 hour tour to get to the park, west point ohio to sandusky. i will be in the park 10-10 for sure if not 9AM -12PM haha :) *** This post was edited by pfc123 on 6/12/2000. ***
I like the 3 hour tour to get to the park better that the 3 hour tour of the park. My suggestion still stands. Park in the main lot. Get to the Marina gate at 8:00 so you can be near the front of the line. Run to MF get your 1st ride there and maybe a 2nd if the line isn't bad. Hit a bunch of other rides and later in the day move your car to the Soak City lot and enter by the Magnum.

BTW, Somewhatchewy Gooober and I were in the line at the Marina gate on opening day. The old guy wasn't letting people in at 9:00 like he was supposed to. As whordes of people were running down the midway I thought a riot was going to breakout.

Jeffrey, Gooober and I are new at this CP thing. It's only our 3rd season there. Got the season passes this year though. We are only "good" because of all the great information on this site and from help you and other CP "addicts" supply.
You also HAVE to get at least ONE night ride in. It's 3 times better at night, if you can believe that.
I can DEFINATELY believe that-because it WAS 3x better!!
It's only 3x better if they have the lighting turned on IMO. I've never tried pitch dark before either.

you mentioned scooter that the OLD MAN ( i love those words ) didnt let you in at nine, well someone in their trip report for june 10th i believe said the same thing. i have come to the conclusion i will be getting there between 8:30-8:50, i have no choice being that i am not driving, the folks are! so is marina gate still my best option?? PS-who decided to make colon the one you have to use shift for anyways? its used more than the colon is!

The parking tickets, YES, are *STILL* redeemable for lunch at the major restaurants on Cedar Point. The only catch? They take the bottom half of your stub... so no free return if you leave the peninsula. ;) Make sure you're staying for good for the day, or you'll be paying for parking again if you redeem the ticket for lunch.
I partially know the answer to question 2. Cedar Point used to validate your parking ticket if you ate at one of the resteraunts outside of the park. I am not sure if they do this anymore. I now have a parking pass.
