A new Labor Day thread

Since the most recent thread I was able to find concerning this specific issue dated back to 2007 I feel it is OK to start a fresh one.

I haven't been to Cedar Point during Labor Day weekend since Mantis opened in 1996. I was wondering if anyone had some insight into what one might expect for crowds. I still owe my nieces and nephews their annual Cedar Point trip and summer is rapidly fading. Just trying to pinpoint a time that wouldn't be too crowded while minimizing time off from work.

It's a holiday weekend and depends on the weather. In the past it hasn't been horrible that I can remember, but still could be.

As I recall from 17 years ago it wasn't too awful bad. No worse than say an early June weekend.

I think that you would be safe going Labor Day weekend.... I wouldn't prolong it any later into the year... you start to get into Halloweekend territory, and it can be CRAZY busy for Halloweekends.

I know all about Halloweekends. I usually make a trip for that at some point, too. I just go with the understanding that it is not a day for rides. It's usually a stroll around the park, drink beer, hit a few rides, and enjoy the way that they have done up the park kind of day.

Just reserved a campsite at camper village for Labor Day weekend. We cannot get any other time off work to take a 2 night trip. Was bummed when I looked to see how long the shows ran. Their last running shows are on the 18th. I was wanting to see Luminosity. Went to the park before the shows opened for the year too. The xtreme wheels show was always fun to watch too.

I know that it doesn't get any better as far as crowds go for the rest of the year. Every weekend is going to be crowded. On Labor Day weekend you just have to consider Sunday as a Saturday and expect that type of crowd. Monday shouldn't be so bad. Sundays during Halloweekends aren't very crowded and for getting rides in seems to always work for us. Not many haunts run on Sundays though.

The students in those shows have to get back to college.
