Any Pics?

It would be great if someone would post pics of Geauga Lake while it was being torn down "just for memory sake"...GL was the place where I lost my coaster fear and now I am a Coaster Junky and some pics of the Park would be perfect for those of us needing updated as the park is being demolished. I hate to see GL go and will miss going there in the summer...I am going to start a photo album and need future pics...Thanks...!

Out of curiosity, when did Dominator's station catch on fire?

That didn't explain when/how that fire started! Anyone have a clue?

Those pictures of the destruction of GL are the most depressing things I have ever seen! :(

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I have been posting updates in the "Who will get what" thread. But I realize it's a long thread to sort through so, here you go. I'll plan to stop by every other week or so throughout the off season, as my schedule permits.

^ Those Pics look like a bad Roller Coaster Tycoon Senerio.

Too much Vandalism in the park, please check where your handymen are... :(

Not Good.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

^The first one is of Maverick.

Let's Get Weird.

Just out of curiosity, where exactly were those taken?

I'm pretty sure they were taken at Geauga Lake. ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah... but where on the property?

The fire was a few weeks, maybe even a month, ago. It's been a while.

IIRC, from what I've read elsewhere (so maybe not 100% reliable,) the fire started from some equipment work on the roof -- torches cutting the metal, I want to say. It only damaged the station, not the coaster itself.

Jason, thanks for the updates. As sad as it makes me to see the park go, I'm glad (in a way?) that I get to "see" it go, and it's not just gone. From someone too far away to see it myself, thank you. :)

^That's a lot of expensive equipment just sitting around in a parking lot.

Seem like Steel Venom could be the most complicated/difficult ride to move with all of its electrical work. You have to figure that those things aren't installed to be easily moved.

Steel Venom sat in the southside parking lot all summer

My signature was edited because it was more than three lines. I'm naughty!

Haha, the first picture from ChrisC. was Maverick and I was like...this is definally not from Geauga Lake. I've never been there, but it's so sad to see coasters being taken down. I hope maybe something from there will go to Cedar Point.

I think it's pretty amazing that they keep track of all the parts! There are a LOT of components to a roller coaster, from the track itself to all the nuts, bolts, and electrical/hydraulic equipment.

Thanks Jason....thats exactly what I was looking for...I would like to continue to see more pics of the park through out its demo session when ever possible...those pics are very depressing but all good things must come to an end..Thanks to all you guys for the pic posts they were all very helpful in starting my photo album...

In watching X-Flight-uh-Firehawk's move to KI, the tracks and supports are all numbered so that part is probably easy. They had TONS and TONS of new nuts and bolts.
As for the electrical stuff, I imagine ALOT more goes into that part.

Jason thanks so much for the updated process (regress?) of the end of GL. Seeing Dominator's tracks sitting in the parking lot so makes me want to drive up there and get some pics myself. Going to miss that coaster, going to miss the park! :(
