Anybody have any Detailed midway maps.

Hello, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but I'll ask anyway.

I've been a fan of the video game Rollercoaster Tycoon for years. Lately I've taken it upon myself to recreate my favourite Park in the game. Cedar Point!

The only problem I'm having is that it's been years since I've been there, and the only info and maps I have to go on are from the Cedar Point website. Their Map is very “cartoony” and has weird proportions. It's also lacking any ride labels, so all I can do is guess at what each one on there is. I was hoping somebody would have more detailed maps of all the midways, or even if somebody that knows the park really well would be nice enough to maybe label on of the existing maps for me that would be great.

Also any sketches, drawings or blueprints (ha not likely eh?) of any of the rollercoasters would help me recreate it as closely as possible

Thanks in Advance

Woah you repeated two paragraphs.....but anyways, I do not have any maps. Try doing a google image search...you will probably find something.

Coaster Count: 147

oops, sorry, I copyed and pasted into word to spell check and I guess I didn't delete the first one when I pasted it back, all fixed now.

OK cool....just wanted to let you know about it...

Sounds like an awesome plan starhawk, I love roller coaster tycoon, which one are you playing 1 2 or 3? I've thought about trying to recreate Cedar Point, but that would be very hard. Any tips you have would be great.

I've tried recreating CP on RCT and it is hard. The park is just TO big, not that's a bad thing:). But that me and I'm not saying that it won't work, it's just that it'll be hard.

I got as far as creating the main midway and found out it was almost impossible to fit the entire park in one custom park scenario(if you're using 2). I had an idea of dividing the park into sections/midways. Like doing the Main midway, then in another custom park scenario Dragster Midway and so on, and so on.

BTW- Try using a park map for reference. That's what I did and it works just fine.

Hope I could help.

So on RCT3 you can make your own terrain and everything. Like, you can make the peninsula and stuff? I've tried on RCT2 making a CP replica, but it's waaay too hard. Good luck.

[url][url]I have been creating a recreation of Cedar Point in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 now for over a month and have been posting updates on the official Atari RCT3 boards.

I come to this site all the time mainly for the photos of the park, which I need to use to get my recreation as real as possible, since I have never been there before. In fact I live on the other side of the planet in Australia.

But here is an overview of what I have done so far.

I have done a little bit more since this screenshot was taken, but if you would like to see updates of this park, you can find it in the atari forums like I mentioned above, or if you like, I can start a thread on this site where you can give me suggestions for improving the park etc.

You look like you mastered RCT3 already. You even added maXair, very cool. Keep up the good work.

Very nice work. If you will someday, take some close up shots of the areas and post them. Again, nice work! :)

In an answer to the original question...I'd bet real money that Walt has what you need. The question is how you get that type of information. He's a busy guy and is losing time to devote to hobbies (like this site). Jeff may have that info too, but I doubt as detailed, and I'm sure his time is limited, too.

I have been hooked to the rct series. To this date i have tried about 4 times in rct2 to get cp. Each time I forget something then I have to start all over. Here is the best one that I have. http://www.freewebs.com/rctbigbuilder2/pictures/cp3.JPG

P.S. I started a rct3d recreation about a week ago. Starting off preatty good so far.

I'm so RCT illiterate. It takes everything I got just to make Blue Streak.

well matt's park kicked my butt, I guess I wasn't going for a exact recreation anyways. Just a RCT park with the Cedar point rides and the genreal layout.

I've loved RCT for a long time, when the first came out I had to have it. After I got it I played it all the time. I also got the Loopy Landscapes and Corkscrew Follies expansion packs and loved them. When RCT 2 came out i wasn't a fan of it, I really didn't like it, and still don't. I'm gonna try out RCT 3 tomorrow hopefully, it looks good, but I'm still kind of attached to the first. I've never tried to recreate CP or any of the roller coasters, I don't know, it seems to difficult, but I think I may try it out.
