Man that sucks now i have to wait in 2 hour lines for TTD and MF.

They goed bye bye.

You can still find the carts scattered around the property. They've been "re-allocated" to other uses.

Like the one behind TTD's hydraulic building.

And the couple that I saw behind the fence near the Gemini restrooms.

They're using one of them for parking stickers.

I'm pretty sure they've all been moved behind the Gemini Restrooms as TTD420atCP mentioned, except for the one being used for parking stickers and the one being used in Frontiertown at the Town Hall for official height measuring prior to the opening of Town Hall.

Correct, everyone.

One is near Main Tolls.
Another is in the Dragster Infield.
Most of them are near Gemini Bathrooms.

I did some talking to a person familar with CP (we'll say). Basically Freeway was discontinued due to many many complaints last year and CP "figuring out" that it wasn't fair to make other guests wait LONGER due to Freeway entries.

Basically, removed because it wasn't 100% fair for everyone. *** Edited 6/5/2006 11:56:29 PM UTC by cedarpointr0x***

Who said anything about life being fair? Or life HAVING to be fair?

Seems fair to me. I mean, everyone had equal access to the system, sort of.

Well, if you chose to sleep in and not show up until 3pm, do you really deserve a stamp over someone who was waiting for when the cart opened?

When people would go and wait for 30+ minutes just to get a stamp so they could miss part of the line later, is that really a problem?

The biggest issue I can see is the line jumping on Magnum caused by the freeway entrance.

Also, as a suggestion to the park: When it is slow and the line for Mantis doesn't extend outside the station (as was the case when we went second weekend) switch over from the main queue to the freeway queue. Instead of making people walk through a bunch of empty queue, give them the shortest route possible.

I can imagine people claimed it was "unfair" because they didn't know about it until people started hopping on the ride before them.

Everyone had equal access to the kiosks. They were in plain view near the entrance to all the participating rides. All the information about the program was freely available. If somebody decided not to pay attention and find out what this "Freeway" kiosk near the entrance was, it's their own fault.

Was Freeway flawed? Absolutely. It was an awful system, but it was not unfair.

The people that complained about it were too lazy to get there in time to utilize it or take the time to figure out exactly what it was.

We definitely miss it this year.

I agree, Jugga. When we went on the 3rd weekend, we were walking through the queues and there were a handful of kids who didn't want to wait behind us, because I wasn't walking fast enough (as if it matters how quickly we get to the end of the line). So, they decided to just hop on over and line jump in front of us. Had I not been in such a happy mood, I would have turned them in, but they would have only had to go back to the end of a 10 minute line.

The system can definitely be implemented better. I was pleased with Disney's system (FastPass) while we were there last fall. I'm sure it has its problems, but it is still pretty good and definitely much better than FreeWay.

You know, I never used freeway (never got to the kiosks) that frequently, but I never thought of it as unfair.

I hope they bring it back in some form. We used it for MF and TTD each time we went to the park. There was nothing "unfair" about it.

Down at Kings Island they have special access on certain days for season pass holders. Lets see what they do with that.

Disney's system is by far the best, but would be super expensive to install at any park. I think anything is better than the pay system that Six Flags uses. Everyone has equal opportunity at the free passes, not everyone can afford to pay for something like skipping a line. Freeway was fair for those who knew about it, but like usual, the people who have to whine and complain about everything that doesn't go their way ruined it.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Freeway was one of the quarky, although not very organized, fun - in a strange way at CP.

No moe fun in trying to hit all the Freeway spots before they closed and by the time you're done - you have various colored ink on the top of both hands - going up your wrist.

Is CP answer to the discontinuing the freeway, with replacing wit with the VIP pass? Pretty soon people will be complaining that it isn't fair for someone to pay $100 + for a pass that gets them no waiting time.

They should have a Frequent Rider program - like the airlines. The more rides you accumulate - the less time you have to wait. Just like the airlines!

the only issue i had w/ disney was that for most of the rides(not space mt. b/c i ha connections w/ fedex) the fast pass line was longer than the regular lie by the time for your pass... now what is the point to that? if any one can get them at any time the fast pass line will always be longer. thats why cedar point's system worked.
