Be nice to MF operators

I just want to mention the rude behavior many people have against the MF operators. I spent all weekend listening to how nasty people got with them for doing their jobs. Let's just make it clear they cannot let anyone in the MF line if you are carrying anything in your hands or have some sort of bag. I truly felt bad for all the yelling and the obsenities they receive each day. It has to destroy their "working at the point" experience. Well thats all I gotta say.

FYI--if you happen to be in line for MF say hi to my girls that are selling those pepsi products you guys seem to enjoy :)

Tell them not to take it seriously. When you are in a job that deals with thousands of people a day you better be prepared to hear the worst. It goes with the job. I worked at an amusement park during my youth and dealt with it on a daily basis.
Yes, they maybe true, Chitown..But, NOONE deserves to have obsenties yelled at them! I dont care what type of job you have
People go bonkers when they get in a public forum. I have never understood it. I think there is a better solution to the MF carry-on policy, but that's the way it is right now, and giving grief to the person at the point-of-contact won't help the situation one bit. If you have a problem, go talk to someone who can do something about it, and for pete's sake, think before you speak.
Having to work with the public daily, I feel for the MF ops. The public can be rude, obnoxious and they think they know everything. I think the MF ops are doing a great job in keeping the ride running with all the "bugs" and all. And even tho I would like to choose my own seat, with the current popularity I agree with filling up the trains first come, first serve, it keeps the line steadily moving. MF ops- keep up the great work!

Oops... I rode it again!
I agree, but the thing I wish would happen is if there are negitive words shouted at the ride Ops the people who are saying it should be escorted out of the Park. I wish the ride ops were better trained to get the cars out faster though

You have to give them time for that... just wait til they "feel the flow". :)

Who here is a MF ride op on a daily basis.. I wanna say hi!
How can anyone be rude to these op's!!! We are riding the best new coaster in the WORLD, but hey that doesn't mean much. I am so grateful to these op's without them we don't ride. (well CP would get someone) But it has been my observation that when I and others are nice to the op's they are nice back making it a better ride. When I come back into the station I want to hear those op's say "Welcome back Millennium Force riders How was that ride!!" That makes it so much better. Seeing there smiles and amazement at our screams of joy. Now I can bet if we are mean to them they will not be nice to us and give us the short end of the stick. I guess that this being a monumental coaster doesn't mean much to some.

SkyrideChic I always take time to encourage the MF ride ops. and the other personell in the park.
I even thank the bathroom cleaners and the sweeps.
Early on in the Employee Lounge I gave a big thank you to the MF ops and the great job they do. A big part of the riding public are vicious
wild animals with no respect for anyone but themselves. Their morals and actions in the ride queues bear this out. If only some of these loud mouths had to walk in the ride ops shoes for 1 day they would sing a different song.

You can fool others, but nothing you do is hidden from God.
JESUS rules :) :)
You must be one of those people who just reminds us why working at working at CP is the greatest job to have. When i return this weekend I'll them know that there are some nice people on this site who think they are doing a good job.

I deal with the public on a daily basis. As a result of this, I have deleloped a "personality callous". Most of the public think they are right all the time, they could NEVER be wrong, and you're a peon who's supposed to kiss their a**. Well, it dosen't work that way. If I'm in a store, I go out of my way to be nice to the sales help, cashiers, ect. I know very well what they have to deal with. Last year at CP, if I saw a guy with a tie, I made a point to tell him how much I enjoyed the park. They broke out into a big smile. The same with the ride ops. I would sympathize with them on how they have to deal with idiots all day and what a great time I'm having and what a good job their doing. Some were so happy to hear something nice that they would get into a conversation with me just because it wasen't someone yelling at them. Ride ops are doing their best and can't help it if something goes wrong or gives you an answer you don't want to hear. People that serve the public are not required to kiss anyone's a** or take abuse from an ingrate who does not deserve to breathe air. My compliments to all the CP staff and workers- you folks help make a bad day good and a good day great!
Well I'm not an MF operator (I'm not even there yet, AAAH I'm going crazy, 16 more days!!) but I can speak on behalf of a few of them (they don't post here much--their jobs are a bit demanding) when I say we all really appreciate people like most of the people in this forum and how much people like you all brighten our days when it seems like nobody respects us or appreciates us. If you see these people post...tell them great job, cause these are a few of the MF operators who've previously posted here on GTTP:

Sad Smiles (Shannon)
Soccer05 (Dana)
PTCJB98 (Jason)
CPForce2K (Matt)

If I missed anyone, sorry bout that!! See everyone in 16 days!

I'm gonna say hi to Fly by (Eddie) I made that promise a couple months ago.
This is not to say that all Ride Ops are great people.
Both Abraham at SFO's S:UE and the 'Ghostrider Blonde' are known to be outright vicious at times.

The MF ops were awesome so far this year (Jason and Geoffrey being my 2 personal favs) and during my 2 ride days I didnt see anyone getting nasty with the ride ops HOWEVER
I did see people just screaming at the ride ops
on Monday when they found out MF wasnt going to run. I give them ALOT of credit (the crew not the idiots) for staying as calm as they do. I just hope that I can stay that collected when Im working there too....
I deal with the public every day as well-lucky for me on the phone only and even on the phone they can be royal butt holes.
Back to CP in 5 days--woo hoo
goin for lap 40 on MF
(shooting for 50 total but we'll see!)

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
For one thing, the MF ops are just doing what their supervisors told them to do. CP is VERY experienced in roller coaster riding and can tell you just about ANYTHING that can happen on, or fall off of, a coaster. When the OPS instruct us to leave certain items off of the rides, they are protecting their jobs. Would any one of us do something contrary to what our boss' tell us at the risk of losing our jobs? Also, if a ride is closed down for a day, why take it out on the op?
We should thank them for doing their job and protecting us from what could possibly kill or injure us.............Thank you coaster operators.
