Best ride to go on at night??

My favorites are Maverick, Mean Streak and Mine Ride. I love that little corner at night....but oh the bugs!!

Millennium Force at night with pelting, stinging rain. Best ride of my life.

One time I was riding front seat millennium at night, and during the ride I saw lightning or something flashing like that over the lake, and it felt like it was raining. When I got off I looked at my orange shirt and it was brown from mayflies

Gatekeeper is cool, flying through the Blue Lights on the Key Holes. Pretty Awesome.

Top 5: (1) Superman the Ride (2) Millennium Force (3) Maverick (4) Leviathan (5) Diamondback

I think Sky Ride is the best night ride. Great view and slow enough to enjoy it.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,

I like Mean streak at night, except for the bugs.

Mean Streak and MF, especially when it is raining.

Riding MF at night in the rain is pretty ridiculous. With the spotlights at the bottoms, you can see yourself catching up to and then passing the rain on the way down. Looks like some sort of Star Wars warp drive special effect.

So far we've determined that just about every ride in the park is the best at night. So I'm going to go ahead and cast my vote for Cedar Downs.

Which, by the way, is rather groovy at night. It's so nicely lit in there and the view out to a colorful midway and then the darker area behind the ride just feels so amusement-parky to me. The sparkly lighting effects under Raptor happen frequently while you're in there, too, and that's fun to see.

I also liked the new Monster at night. It's easy to get on in the evening, one, and the new lights are a riot of color when you spin around on the ride. The blue and green bulbs cast such a strange hue over the red, orange, and yellow tubs, it's (unintentionally?) kind of trippy and definitely different than a day time ride.

There. That's everything.

I maintain there is no moment so perfect as that moment you crest Magnum's lift hill on a clear summer night, with the stars above and the lake below...

... but yes, Cedar Downs at night is also a great experience.

This is a tough one to say which is the overall best at night but I'd give the nod to Windseeker slightly beating out both Magnum and Millenium.

Magnum, my favorite day or night, but at night you can just keep running back in line and the darkness over the water is great. Also Blue Streak, because it seems a little more rickety and out of control in the dark.

I'm going to add Rougarou to this list. It's a good ride at night.

They are cool. There are fog, lighting and sound effects, but you can't hear them while riding, just when you are heading near the queue entrance.

Do the effects go beyond the first drop? I have heard they don't and all I have heard are disappointed reviews as far as effects go.

Personally I think it would be worth the extra buck to have thick fog around the entire ride.

Last edited by CoasterCam,

There is misting and a speaker with werewolf sounds projecting near the bottom of the first loop. There are also spotlights. If you consider those to "special" or "cool" then more power to you. I consider them about the very, very least they could do to call it themed. I just wish Cedar Fair would stop reinforcing the line between amusement and theme parks. There doesn't have to be a line.

Yes, I was expecting much more in the way of theming on the ride then there is going by what Jason said in one of the videos. They have done fog before on Iron Dragon and the tunnels on Magnum and the lighting effects are really nice on Millenium Force. Nothing new here that hasn't been done before.

I thought there was supposed to be a Rougarou somewhere along the ride?

I am a big fan of MF at night.

Got my first ride on Gatekeeper during Mantis's Last Stand last year and it was ok. Not the best ride at night but pretty good.

Still need to get another night ride on Raptor this year along with Mine Ride.

For me the best night ride has to be The Voyage though, even more so than The Beast.

Windseeker on July 4th during fireworks was absolutely spectacular. That's an experience that's HIGHLY recommended and one that I will never forget!
