B&M brown dive track spotted

As long as we are talking color, here is a list of nice looking colors that the park lacks: Greens, yellows (sure WT, but nothing else), purples/pinks, black, white.

With the amount of shades each of these colors have, Cedar Point really has no excuse for continuing to build blue and red rides, even though it is American.

I think Gatekeeper2013 meant a green coaster with yellow supports.

Its always the big ones you forget, thanks. But even so, in comparison to the blues and reds, green is quite scarce.

^No, I was just referring to colors in general that we don't see much if at all in the park.

Well If we did Green track with yellow supports, people might think the park is Green Bay Packer fans. Lol

TTD back spine is yellow and the red is fading to pink so that covers those colors lol.

I like the color schemes of CPs' coasters. They tend to use shades of the three primary colors (red, yellow, and blue,) with lightly-colored supports. It makes the coasters stand out, without looking "out-of-place" with the rest of the park.

I like unique color schemes if they're done right, but to be honest, some colors just look trashy.

Perhaps I'm not up to date on current theming standards for Valravns, so I must ask, what colors are typically used on items under the Valravn theme?

Very dark colors such as black or purple.

True, every Valravn I have ever seen has been black and purple, can't believe I was silly enough to forget that.

White looks very cool for a few years, but then it just gets dirty and doesn't look nice at all. The link that ! posted is a great example of what I'm talking about.

I will be glad if it isn't pink or purple or anything neon. I think those colors are dated for coasters, not unlike how teal was such a hot color for cars some twenty years ago, then faded quickly. I am good with the blue on MF, Blue Streak, and GK are nice and pleasing, they are of different shades, and they don't look dated. But I agree with !, some colors can be done right, some just look cheesy or trashy.

I think the people are getting the purple and black color idea from the colors that are commonly associated with crows. However, that doesn't mean that a Valravn necessarily has to follow that color choice. Being that it's a mythological creature, it can reflect colors from multiple aspects. I, for one, kind of like the brown(ish) and grey color scheme we've seen in the pictures. It's not awful and it'd be something new for the park. My view is, just wait to see how everything else is incorporated and see what other color choices are made. You never know, you might be pleasantly surprised.

**disclaimer** All expressed ideas are made under the assumption that Cedar Point is indeed getting a dive coaster for 2016

I quite like that Batman color scheme of black and white.

I just think black and purple are colors that the park lacks that would fit well with the Valravn theme, even if that is all the themeing that is used. I'm still a little skeptical that the Valravn name will be used for the new coaster. It just seems like a bit of a stretch for a park like Cedar Point. I realize that even Rougarou is a stretch but I don't think it is quite as strange as Valravn. It is a name I am okay with them using though.

Rougarou isn't as strange as Valravn? Surely you jest...

Well a Rougarou is basically a werewolf. Right? That is a much more commonly heard of mythical creature. Once people are told what it is most would understand. The Valravn myth is much more uncommon. I had heard of werewolfs when they announced Rougarou, but I had never heard of a
Valravn.

I personally think that if this track is for CP I would rather the Centurion name be used than Valravn.

I don't think Cedar Fair still has the Centurion name, I saw somewhere they had a conflict and the rights to the name are no longer theres

I heard somewhere that they no longer had the rights to the Valravn name. So I'm not sure what to believe.

If one had never even heard of a Valravn how could one know what colors would be an appropriate theme for a Valravn?

Thabto's avatar

Have you ever heard of a bright orange werewolf (Rougarou)? Or a red cow (Maverick)? None of the coasters are really colored appropriately for their name. Only one that really is colored appropriately is TTD.

First off, that was SFMM's Batman, which originally had a gray and black color scheme, which I always thought was one of the sharpest combinations of all the Batmen.

I think that brown and gray would be bad ass for a dive coaster, that would be very fitting if it is indeed to be named Valravn. I'm in agreement with others that have said please please no more red or blue!!!
