Brotherhood of the Force

This is my first post, so take it easy on me. Just got back from CP today(May 18-21), still in awe of the power of MF. Aside from the actual ride, the thing that struck me about the experience was the "bonding" that occured in the queues. After a few minutes, I felt like I knew everybody in line with me for years, although I never met them. Of course things got a little more excitable near the station with screaming, high fives, and the enigmatic "WHASSUP!". I have never witnessed anything like this at any ride at any amusement park. Is this something special that happens just because of the magnitude of this ride or proof that I just don't get to many amusement parks?
Welcome Raptor Dude!! I totally agree with you as far as the electricity in line for MF. After I rode, I had to stand outside line and scream at the train as it roared by. People were giving high fives as they came off the ride, and even giving high fives too me. It was totally awesome how everyone seemed to bond for those couple of hours in line, then when you got off MF you felt like you just joined an elite group, and were part of some high society, lol! The energy is great and you dont get that at to many parks! A big thumbs up to the ride ops on MF, they really know how to work an audience!

Welcome, Dude! Yes, the energy around that ride is completely insane. I've never seen anything like it, not even on Magnum. It's that way every day, no matter how long the lines. Watch a train sail by with 72 hands in the air, watch the excitement on both the load and unload platforms. It's really crazy stuff.

Regardless of what coaster enthusiasts have to say, Millennium Force is a home run in every way, and the public loves it.

I have seen energy like that in a queue...

Late in the evening, as closing time approached, on the boarding platform for The Beast at Kings Island, back in the days before QTV.

Then they installed QTV and made some other operational changes, and now that platform is as dull and lifeless as any other.

When I was at PKI last, however, my train was getting people pumped up. The ops said they could hear us coming towards the station, and we were all just screaming and cheering. Only thing was, half of the people in the station were giving us these "what the hell is wrong with these people?" looks. I can't wait until this weekend, so I can experience this phenomenon on MF! Nothing gets me pumped up during a day at the park than cheering fans who are just so excited to be on a great coaster!

I remember back when the Beast was fairly new, back before paramount bought them, there was the same energy as on Millennium Force. People started shouting BEAST BEAST BEAST BEAST. It was pretty awesowe. Rideman your right the station now is dull lifeless and the ride-ops aren't very nice.

MF COUNT - 4
Sometimes, when I go with a big group, we recreate this same intensity for CCMR. It's hilarious because all the people on the midway think we're crazy. :)
I don't know what day you guys went to CP but the enthusiasm of MF crowds was no where NEAR the enthusiasm I remeber from Magnum when it opened. When Magnum opened, train fulls of people would come out the final tunnel with their hands in the air! Not one person would be seen traveling back to the loading station without a smile on their face and giving it a round of applause. I think it just seems more exciting because you can actually see the people returning on MF as you wait in line. We all know you can't see much of anything on Magnum from where it's queue is. It's almost mysterious because all you can see is that huge drop and the second huge hill. It's amazing! On a good day, you'll see trains of people STILL clapping after their ride!

I have seen mostly trains with hands in the air and screams of joy. However there have been a couple of times when I have seen no hands and no screams. One of these happened as I was walking right by the exit station. The ride op asked how was your ride, and silence. I yelled out "What,.. yeah get off and go ride junior gemini!!" Those are the people I hate to ride with.

Wow!!!! Just think at how Richard Kinzel must be feeling right now!! I remember a quote of his somewhere about him standing at the exit of Magnum hearing people cheering after that ride...I wonder how he feels today!!!

I don't care what those non-cp lovers say about Cedar Point recreating history becuase they are and I don't think in their wildest dreams did they think it was going to go this far...

I do remember the opening few days of Raptor, We were standing in line one night, and alot of people were taking quarters and hitting the metal queues and making bird calls! ( something to the effect of AAAWW AWWWW) It was funny at first but after awhile I wanted to ring some necks!! Thank God, that didnt seem to last long after the first week went by!!

I think my fav part of MF is when you are ALMOST in the loading station and you're right next to the track and you can hear the track start to "hum" real low so you know a train in on the way-then the train goes by (quick) you hear the people scream-then the hum goes away.
Silly but I just love that!
On the 2 days Ive ridden people were extrememly
pumped before during and after!

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
I visited the Point today for the first time this year, and even though there was a problem with rain, it was the best visit I've had in a long time. There was this same kind of energy Raptor Dude was talking about all over the park today. Especially in line for MF. I've never seen a ride bring people who have never seen each other before so close in a matter of an hour and 15 minutes (Which is how long I waited even though the host at the entrance to the queue said 3 hours)like MF did today. Although I feel that the ride is awesome (but lacking some substance) if nothing else it is worth just about anything to experience the "togetherness" in the queue and after the ride.

"Yellow line? What Yellow Line..."
A friend of mine was at the park this past Saturday, and I asked him about the atmosphere when he returned to the station. He said every train was going crazy, and when his train came in, he was the only one cheering, so he stopped right away. Guess he was embarrassed.
