Extended Ride Times

Has anyone attended an ERT before? What is it like? How long does it last?

The Cedar Point Website has the best details but in a nutshell here it is.

On certain dates after the ride has closed for the evening, platinum or at times regular season pass holders are allowed one extra hour of ride time. Last year I got seven rides on Mille one night, other times zero due to weather/ ride breakdowns.

Your mileage may vary.

Its a great pass benefit. Just be aware that ERT doesnt start as soon as the park closes. They have to cycle all the guests through the line first, and on a ride like MF, that can take a while before ERT actually starts.

ERTs can be really variable just like Redwolf said. Sometimes you get a bunch, other times not much. We went to a Millennium ERT two years ago, and would have gotten more rides in if we just would've ridden for the last hour before closing than we did for the hour of ERT. On the otherhand, a few years ago, we did a Millenium ERT where we got 7 rides in the hour. Last year during one of the early Raptor ERTs, my son and I rode 6 times consecutively in the front seat without ever having to get off (that was my personal favorite). My overall opinion is ERTs are great and one of the great perks of being a passholder or participating in special events, but you have to keep in mind it is an extra. Even if you only get one extra ride, it's still one more ride than what you had without the ERT. The only negative is it can create some late nights especially if you have a longer drive home.

ERTs are extremely variable. Some situations would be as follows. The worst situation is no ERT due to weather. Scheduled ERT ride is broken and a different ride is substituted. Scheduled ERT occurs but large ERT crowd so not many rides are gotten. Scheduled ERT occurs but virtually no ERT riders-best situation.

Saturday,Sept 10,2011. Very small crowd for a Saturday and TTD ERT night. I got 17 rides before ERT and 9 rides during ERT. ERT had so few riders that Robin Innes(a name from the past) was allowing riders to go directly from unboarding to boarding to fill the train so it could be launched.
