Fastest??

What's the fastest you've seen Top Thrill Dragster go (on the MPH radar).
the most i'v seen was 126.

I also wish they would have a radar at the end of the ride. (when your waiting to be unloaded) so you can see how fast you went.

ive seen 123, thats the highest ive noticed.

128. That was back in 03.

<Matt>
101 on Magnum and counting...

Saying this with no intentions to start another debate, just a simple question.

Am I wrong or did KK set the record with 128? Wouldn't that make it a tie, if so?

Best RollerCoaster in the World = Millenium Force

The record in the "books" is the speed the ride is designed to operate at; TTD being 120 and KK being 128.

Try doing a little research before making a new thread......this was in the first page too.

Is that gun really that accurate or does it just spit out random numbers?

It depends.... Does this look accurate to you?

DBCP,

Actually, that's a picture of the trigger for the on-ride photo. The radar gun is the white thing on top of the hydraulic building just to the right of the track.

Oh, thanks for the correction. I think I'd trust the other one over the white one.... ;)

128mph, 03 also.

First trip June 23rd

The white one is the kind that you see in most police cars. I would trust the white one over the photo eye sensor any day of the week.

While we all wish the white one that the police use would tend to read a bit lower when we're on your way to work. :) *** Edited 5/22/2006 4:57:53 AM UTC by Gomez***

Sorry, my post was meant to be sarcastic.

I saw the readout do 130 MPH one day, of course, none of the trains were really clearing the hill that day, and they had the last 2 rows empty and they were really trying to get them over the hill so people could enjoy the ride. After that train did 130 MPH, I never saw it do it again.

TTD 2003: 32
TTD 2004: 2 1/2
TTD Total: 34 1/2
Rollbacks: 1

Ive seen it at 127 before.

A bit off topic, but they changed the "world's fastest coaster sign." IMO, the new one looks horrible.

I do, but it's still in my disposable camera. :P

Though I must say that it's not all that bad. They probably had a small list of things they could put on the sign. The sign now says (for those who dont know) "Are you ready?" and, I think, "0-120mph in 4 seconds".
