First Time Season Pass!! have some questions

I would like to go see Hollow weekends this year yet... and me and my wife have chosen to just go ahead and purchase the season passes for 2015.
I would like to know, should i just go ahead and buy the season pass online, then will I be able to print a ticket to get me into the park this year yet (actually on Friday). Or should i wait and but a pass at the gate when i get there.

I have never gotten a season pass before, and have heard they now print a card? with a photo on it? Do i pick that up this year? or will they mail it? or do i buy one next year?

If you buy it online, you will need to print a voucher which you take to the season pass center to get processed. Then they give you a card which will show your photo when it's scanned. They do not mail them.

May not be able to process the actual card until next spring though. You just use the voucher this fall for your visit. Double check at the Season Pass Center when you get there.

Buy online and print out the vouchers. The vouchers each do two things:

1) Show them at the entrance gate this fall for your free visit, do not give them to the gate person, nor throw them away, keep them

2) Head over later in the day to the season pass center, and there you turn them in for your "credit card" like passes. They will take your picture, but the photo won't be on the card, just in the system.

You could do it reversed, but then you're wasting valuable ERT.

Ok thanks guys... for the useful information!

I would not suggest buying online, as Cedar Point uses Accesso for its online ticketing. Accesso charges a processing fee that you can avoid by purchasing the pass at the park, and I have experienced multiple issues with this company trying to get tickets for two different amusement/theme parks.

x2. Accesso blows, and why pay their processing fee when you can buy the same thing at the gate?

To avoid having to wait at the more-often-than-not long and slow season pass ticket windows.

Yeah, the time saved and convenience factors are worth the fee, in my opinion. It's not as if the value proposition falls off a cliff with the added fee.

Are you sure that you don't still have to go to the season pass window though before entering the park with the Free in 2014 voucher? Does that print right off on the computer?

That was my point. Accesso sucks and often times there's no reason at all to buy stuff online and pay the fee when you can do that same thing in a few seconds at the park (excluding season pass related stuff, obviously)

I've never had an issue with Accesso. I mean, it's not a great purchasing experience, but it's not that bad.

I suppose in my case, we're usually renewing, so there's no need to go to the Season Pass Center, so we do it online.

Brandon

So, we normally do get passes at Halloweekend for the following year, not sure if we will get there (busy schedules)

How much is the online process fee?
Is it the same fee for new vs renew? Just wondering if it would be cheaper to make a special short trip or just pay the fee

TIA

Yes, I'm sure, 100%. That's why I wrote it.

I think i will try this... walk in first, then walk back and get the season pass after a few hours... unless we get there and there is no line at the season pass window... Is there always a line at the season pass window?

At the beginning of the day? Hell yes. Any other time, just plain yes.

Agree with Scottyf.

I bought 2015 Season passes and used them yesterday to go to the park. I printed them out and they scanned in no problem. I did not go to the season pass place since I will have more time next year in my first visit than I had yesterday. The fee was $9.99. I did not have any problems purchasing 3 season passes, 5 tickets and a parking voucher online. I kept my printed out season pass for next year.

OK so I purchased the season passes online... The fee was 5 a pass... But this really didn't dave me any money or time because there was no line at the season pass registration. Oh well. I just really wish that I could enter multipal times this fall with my season pass for next year.

Why should a 2015 pass let you in multiple times in 2014? I think allowing once is being very generous.

Even Siri capitalizes "dave" and doesn't misspell "multipal," so there goes that excuse.

Beyond that, there are two parts to season passes: purchasing and registration, and both can have lines. I'm assuming you're referring to both above when you simply state "registration," had no line, but you need to realize that you are not immune to Murphy's law. Clearly, the purchasing lines would have been horrendous had you needed it.
