i haven't been to a sit down resturant, but at the dragons inn they suck, it literally took 10 mins to order and recieve a corn dog that was already cooked and sittin on the shelf! They couldn't even speak english, i said i wanted a corn dog and he said "chicken?" The food service is the only problem with CP!

^Haha. I had the EXACT same experience at the EXACT restaurant. I was even ordering a Corn Dog and they couldn't understand me. :)

I can't shake the feeling that someone tried to make this thread less than a a week ago. Walt gave you some advice, and if you have not read through the threads he posted already, it's still a good idea to get the feel of things around Pointbuzz.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

Wait a tick, it is now considered funny to laugh at those who are coming in from a different country trying to make some money and gain some personal experiences.

Now would you like it if you worked in, lets say France and someone laughed at you and or made fun of you because you could not speak the language?

I did not know thats how things have become lately.

My experience with the food servers at Cedar Point after 3 decades is that 9 out of ten times the person helping me is 1) unhappy to see me, 2) unhappy about their choice to work at Cedar point, 3) very, very, very slow, 4) quite dim in the mental capacity to figure change.

I can count on one hand the "good" experiences I have had with the food stands, so my expectations are for the worst.

Gourmet Pretzel usually isn't too bad. At least when I've been there lately.

Its fine to have foreign people working at a park. I talked to a Russian girl in the Maverick gift shop on opening week. I like meeting new and different people. But if your going to have them work dont put them in a posision where they have to take orders from customers. If they cant speak english have them work a job where they dont have to talk to alot of people.

^^^That's funny, Jugga, as the Gourmet Pretzel stand is the one place we hit every time we're at the park, and is the one place where we actually have had good service.

Come to think of it, I suppose I should also mention that the bartenders at the Red Garter are always great as well. Never had a problem there.

I think I talked with the same girl, only the week before.

Regarding the food service: I have never had bad service from Game Day Grille.

It would help the server at Dragon's if you ordered off the menu. Last I remembered they are listed as Hot dog on a stick, not corn dogs. While it is a corn dog, it is possible for someone not to understand what you want since you gave it a new name.

If anything I have the most respect for those in foods, they put up with more BS then one can imagine. Thats not an excuse to be rude towards customers but when it happens to me I give them the benefit of the doubt.

This is coming from someone who has worked in foods for 2 years (Not at CP).

No one's laughing at them. I did order a hot dog on stick, and I can see how someone who doesn't speak perfect English might get chicken out of the word stick. We are whining, but I know I'm sure not going to laugh after how long I had to wait for something that was probably already made.

If you thought the smiley was to insinuate laughing, no. I thought these things were for the most part isolated incidents, so I thought it was funny that someone described exactly what happened to me.

When I ate at Macaroni's, it took a long time for us to get our food. The waitress brought us water when we needed it, but she never told us that it was going to take long. Once she said that our food would be right out, but we didn't get it until like a half hour later. Our order wasn't a large order either. We ordered a ceasar salad and pizza sticks.

Just Wondering but how can you talk to her a week before if I talked to her 3 days after OD?

Anyway she was really nice even though it was hard to understand her. I loved her face when I told her that I skipped school to go to Cedar Point. She said "You peoples can skip school in America?" I never saw her again though. I went back to the gift shop just to see if she remembered me but it was all guys. :(

^Sorry. Thought you meant Maverick's opening week.

Sometimes the foreign workers can be really awesome, and usually they're very hard workers too. However, some of them have a much better grasp of the English language than others, and I admit it's a little annoying to try to speak with someone when you can't understand each other.

That said, the walk up food service at CP has been a mess for years, with a few exceptions. I've never really had a bad experience at a sit down restaurant. I do feel bad for the servers though. When you have an idiot guest, most employees only have to deal with them for a couple of minutes, but the servers get the joy of dealing with them for 30 minutes or more.

I was at Game Day Grille last year, and had the nicest waiter. However, he was also waiting on a table of the most obnoxious 13 year olds I had ever seen. No parents in sight of course. They were screaming demands at him non-stop from across the restaurant, throwing stuff at him, purposely knocking cups over and making him clean it up, etc. One girl kept screaming at him to go get her some ketchup while he was trying to take our order. It was everything I could do to not go smack the hell out of every single one of them. However, after my table urged him to do so, the waiter's TL/manager (whatever it is in the restaurants) stuck the gratuity on the bill for those kids, because it was obvious they weren't going to leave a tip. The kids were ticked, but it made me very happy. :)

So the next time your waiter seems grumpy, just think about having to put up with that several times a day.... People truly cut out for the job will rise above it, but not everyone can.

I hope they stuck 18% on there.

I'm actually kinda surprised they weren't taken to security until their parents could retrieve them and remove them from the park. There is no need for anyone to behave that way. I understand that many teenagers are allowed to roam free, but I don't see many 6 year olds. And if you act like a six year old, you should be treated like one.

Has anyone else noticed that patt b hasn't responded at all to his/her thread?

The waiter did tell us at one point that they were considering having the cops come take the kids away. I don't know why they didn't, it certainly would have been justified.
