^ But you also have two more reasons not to come to the park.

If that's your biggest reason for not going back to Geauga Lake, I feel sorry for you. It's not like they're in the business of catering to coaster-tools anyway.

I just don't get it. First, people bitch because the place became a Six Flags - cuz OMG Six Flagz sux!!1- and now that they are doing their best to strip the flags away and restore GL to the family/picnic/waterpark/day of fun that it once was, everyone cries because "waah, they're taking away all the rolly coasters!"

There's still 8 coasters there, which is more than you're going to find at many other parks that size. Put the waterpark on top of that, and you're getting more than you should.

Woah.. Here comes Josh defending Geauga Lake, and he doesn't even really like the place.

No matter what anyone does, there will ablways be some one to complain. You can't please everyone.

Well our family plans are still to go to Geauga Lake OD. I have to drive past CP to do that.

Now that Maverick is open, we are throwing another visit to CP in this week, and me and my kids will be there early --- really early monday morning. (Hoping to get a JC Fleece, or one of the 3000 shirts)

I too hope everyone supports GL, I want to make at least one more visit later this year.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

First off X-Flight sucked. Second, you don't need 2 intamin impulse coasters within 115 miles of each other. Kind of like riding the "Bounty" and "Ocean Motion" or "Hay Bayler and Matterhorn".

Not much loss at all, I certainly hope next year they expand the waterpark a little more with putting the shark attack slides up, maybe a master blaster, and a toddler kiddie pool like Choo Choo lagoon!

In defense of Geauga Lake I have noticed that it is treated like the red headed stepchild of Cedar Fair. The loss of 3 rides in the off season does not paint a good picture of the parks future.

Geauga Lake is still a great park and a great place for us Western Pennsylvanians to get away for a real steel coaster fix since Steel Phantom was neutered. They also have a very good waterpark to spend the day at.

I will be at Geauga Lake on opening day in hopes that my money will be put toward park improvements.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it.

Piss on it and walk away.

I find it had to take someone seriously that has "Kennywood Sucks!" in their signature.

I agree that Kennywood has gone downhill. I went there in 2002 and in 2007 and it just wasn't as good. What it is I couldn't put my finger on it, but the park seemed not as good. Kind of like Six Flags getting ahold of it!

One of the things about Kennywood is that the surrounding area's have become more and more depressed. I have had friends go to the park and been threatened with knives. My ex-girlfriend had her car stolen from the "Secure" parking lot.

The park is turning into "Ghettowood"

At least you don't have to worry about being car jacked at GL yet.

I remember when Six Flags were selling season passes for $ 39.95, all it became was a baby sitting service for Warrensville Heights!

Drop the kids off with $ 5.00 in pocket and I'll pick you up at 9:30.

The price itself wasn't the biggest problem. Having a road where you can just drop people off is a mistake as well.

I was one of the Season Pass holders. The park was very dirty and the employees were very rude. At least with CF the park is cleaner and friendlier.

Geauga Lake can make a come back, believe you me, but it needs to be handled the right way. Cleaning up the park is the right thing to do. Next year would be great for a new inexpensive coaster, somthing like the spinning wild mouse Worlds of Fun has. But make this the tallest and spinniest wild mouse in the world.

Then the following year add onto the waterpark again!

They need to move the old waterslides to the new area and probably focus more on the wetside. With a CP only an hour drive from GL I don't think GL can draw much as a coaster park.

And by the way Kennywood still sucks !

I agree with you in regards to the needed GL focus. But I feel sorry for you if you can't appretiate the classic amusment park feel that Kennywood has. Even though there have been a couple people here agreeing with you, I know I'm not in the minority when I say there are not enough parks like Kennywood left. Don't blame the park for the city in which it resides.

If Kennywood offered a season pass, I'd have to think twice about buying a Cedar Fair pass.

I love going to Kennywood, once you're in the park it doesn't really matter where the park is located at. Kennywood didn't make the town a hole.

If I was in charge of Geauga Lake, I would add to the waterpark so much that it eclipsed the size of the theme park. It's been proven time and time again, people LOVE waterparks.

As for me, I'll be there next Friday. It's cheap, it has 8 coasters, and there's a waterpark included. Reason enough for me after 2 days at CP.

I agree, but it makes me wonder what Dover did wrong. Or did the Ski resort just want it bad enough they were willing to pay for it. I'm not sure of the details with what happened there.

I always enjoyed Dover Lake Waterpark, I just loved the mountain tube slide, it was the best!
