How big are you? Can you ride?

I have a 41" waist, but I have me some child bearing hips, and even though I've lost 60 lbs in the past year, I was unable to ride MF - couldn't buckle the seatbelt - it was about 2" too short.

It was depressing after 2 years ago when I couldn't get close to buckling it. Well, more motivation!

Just thought I'd give an update. I rode everything without any problems whatsoever. Even had room to spare on Millennium Force.

For "curvy" ladies: I've gained quite a bit of weight over the past two years, and I was worried I might not make the cut this year. My goal is to not have to consider whether I'll fit on a ride next year...CP is great motivation if heart disease isn't enough! ;)

I am 5'5", weigh about 185, have a 35" waist measurement, and a 46" hip measurement. So, if you have some child-bearing hips like me and are worried, you should be safe to ride. I'm at my biggest right now and fit on everything. MF and and TTD were both snug with these hips, but snug works!

*Edit: I wear a size 16 jeans. That might help those in question.

height 5'9"

weight 255

waist 40

I just got back from a week at the point and had no problem on any ride except the yellow train of Millenium. The red train seems to have the longest belts.

Hey just got back from CP I was able to ride all rides except MF TTD seat belt missed by 2".I was dissappointed, but I will be back next year after Jenny Craig system lol.I am 6' 255 and it is the way you are built.Maverick and Magnum were my favorites.

Does anyone have any indication on how the test seat compares to the actual seats. I went a couple of weeks ago and could almost buckle the test seat (Gained a little too much over the winter). I have lost a little bit of weight (about 10 lbs) and may be going next Sunday. I read on another board that the test seat is a little bit smaller than the actual belts. Has that been anyone here's experience as well.

In response to J Ohde's question the test seats compare really good to the actual seats except in the fact that on some rides it may be a step down into your seat and the test seat mis-leads you by being on a raised platform. Also the people that work at the test seat don't tell you if you would fit. E.g. Last weekend me and my dad were at Cedar Point and went to test him in the Maverick test seat ( because he is on the fairly large size) and we got the seatbelt to click but with the seat belt on the edge. The person at the entrance never told us it had to have it up to the line so when we got to the station it was a huge surprise to us so the ride op had to jam the restraint down so she could click it with the belt past the yellow line.

In my expierience the ride ops at the enterence were always very clear about what has to be done to be able to ride (having to pull the 1/2"). Although I have never had to try the Maverick seat, just MF and TTD.

hi there,

i am making my first trip back up to CP sicne 04 this coming august.

after going coasterless last year, i went to WoF recently and found out ive grown quite a bit.

i had to have the rideop buckle me on patriot. i knew i had grown, but i didnt know i had grown that much.

i am 6'3 280. waist 42, football built.

should i be worried? maybe start doing some walking in attempt to cut down some inches?

id hate to drive 10 plus hours just to be told i cant ride TTD, MF, maverick, raptor, and wicked twister. the others i am confident i can ride, but without those 5 their really isnt a point.

and feedback appreciated.

Ragan,

Doesn't it seem like the rides are getting smaller? LOL

Anyway, your height might be what holds you back on MF or TTD. As a general guideline they say if you are taller than 6'2", weigh more than I think 225, or have larger than a 42" chest, you MAY not be able to ride.

Of course, every body is different and it depends on how your weight is distributed.

And FYI, I am pretty sure Patriot at WOF is just another Raptor type ride.

Generally, the ride hosts are pretty helpful. I do not think they enjoy turning people away, so they really want you to fit.

Another FYI, Maverick's seat is VERY roomy. Almost everyone can fit on that.

alright thanks. glad to know almost anyone can fit on maverick (isnt that the way it should be for everything?). when i rode mf and ttd 3 years ago i was 5'11 240 38 waist and i could barely fit on mf, had 3 inches slack on ttd. i dunno if ill make it.

thanks for the info lover. sucks i qualify for all three of those things you said. lol.

^sounds like you're about where I was last summer. The belt barely fit for me on MF, but had plenty of slack on TTD (it was the lapbar on that which was a struggle).

For me...

Last Summer

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 240 lbs with clothes
Waist: 38" (with huge thunder thighs)
Chest: 44" (possibly 45")

This summer

Height -- same
Weight: 188 lbs with clothes
Waist: 33" (my legs are still quite large, but way more toned now like a football player)
Chest: 42"?? (maybe 43")

I doubt I'll have any problems this year.

I see a lot of guys responding to this, and I'm really curious what the ladies have to say from this past season, or guys, if you have bigger ladies!
I've started Jenny Craig and am down to 263 from 290. I fit into a size 18 now, which is on CPs website, but am stil 63 pounds shy of the 200 mark. I fully intend on planning to lost a lot more, however, I am just curious as to what may be a "green light" to be able to ride everything.
Any insight would help!

I was just wondering everyone's experience this year? I am 5'7 and 279, wear a size 18 and am going with friends tomorrow, I'm not even trying TTD, but was wondering about belts on MF this year?

Thanks!

The belts on MF are longer than on TTD.

I know I probably can't fit on TTD or MF, actually I have no desire to ride those roller coasters. I am 5' 6" I now weigh 240 down from 266. I am able to squeeze into CCMR, but I have to push very hard down on the lapbar, it's a tight fit, but I'm able to ride. I wear a size 18/20. Most of my weight is in my lower stomach.

The ones I haven't tried are Mantis, TTD, MF or Magnum. I just don't like being too high off the ground.

Try the test seats and if they arn't too tight I think you should be able to fit.

I walk everyday because of my side job(delivering newspapers)-other

job is in communications. I weigh 219 with a waist size of 38. I ride

everything with room to spare.

5 foot 8 inches tall.
I wear anything from 29-31 waist size pants, and I weigh 158lbs.

I can ride everything at the point.

There havnt been many posts on this for 2008. Anyone with some new stories?

Also, I rode MF 3 years ago and it was really snug. Since then Ive but on prob 25lbs and was wondering if I will be able to get on MF? Are all seatbelts the same on all trains? Also, is the test seat mandatory to get in line? If Im borderline, any tips to make sure I can get on? Thanks

Not sure your actual weight, or how your built, but you'll probably be fine on MF. The belts are definitely a bit longer than they were 3 years ago. And they changed the belt material so the belts don't shrink, so they should all be the same length. I was borderline 3 years ago, and I now have plenty of room to fit.
