How did you get hooked on CP?

Just wanted to know.
I rode Magnum.
I went there. Nuff said.
Went with my family when I was 8, and I rode Iron Dragon. It isn't the most exciting that in the world, but nonetheless I was hooked.
How did I get hooked on CP? Total peer pressure. My friends told me it was cool so I tried it and have been hooked ever since. But I didn't inhale ;)
I kept hearing about it, so at a certain enthusiast's group meeting in Kennywood in 98, I blew off the last two days to give it a try. I chose wisely.
went there, stayed at Breakers, found it very charming..went to the park, rode Magnum, found the park very charming and beautiful and RELAXING...plus i am just an adrenaline junkie at heart and there are SO many ways to get a fix there....

ride early, ride often!!!
I was kidnapped by aliens... they did all kinds of medical experiments on me and the last thing they did was take a hyperdermic needle and shot me with some stuff (don't know what it was called) but it made me crave Cedar Point's rides (especially Magnum).

"Magnum + Prozac= Millennium Force
I have been going to CP every year since the early 70's!!! Granted they did not have the roller coasters they have today but I have always been a huge fan of CP and always will!! CP RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Location. I remember driving up the causeway with my family when I was a little kid. I loved looking out at the lake and seeing a little CP spec in the distance...just get bigger and bigger the closer we got. I guess I'm still a kid at heart because I still get that special feeling in me when I drive up and see giants like Power Tower, MF, Magnum, Rpator, Mantis go up! My summer would not be complete without at least 3 visits to CP.

Family. They all went and always talked about it. So in '98 my amily decided to jion the rest of them. A very WISE choice I have decided! :)

Rode Raptor and Magnum in '94 and I was hooked faster than MF's first drop..;)
So, Jeffrey Spartan - would you say your "Dad being a CP freak" had any negetive effects on you? My 1st coaster ride was on the Jumbo Jet and I've been hooked ever since. Needless to say I've been dragging my kids there since they were tall enough to ride and wonder how one survives such a childhood. They're still enjoying it at this point (my oldest is 18), but what do you think - am I doing permanent damage?

Someone in '96 dragged me to CP she had been telling me for years I was wasting my time on that "other" SOB Ohio park and I HAD to go to CP.
The rest my friends
is history...

No it was a very positive effect SB...I was never once dragged there kicking and screaming thats for sure!! :) I can still remember how excited I used to get when my Dad would wake us up suprisingly in the wee hours of the morning because I KNEW where we were heading!! Its a wonderful feeling as a child to imagine all that awaits at Cedar Point each and every time you go!! And you know I'll do the same to my young daughter that my dad has done to me..Give her the gift of Cedar Point!! Heck shes been there 4 times already this yr and shes only 3 months old!!
