How was your ride?

Rode 10 times. Could have ridden more but had to take an hour break due to shoulders/stomach (Marathon cause the line in the morning was NULL also lack of sleep)

I had the problem with harness as well, tho not the suffocating type. My problem is the harness pushes down straight, and doesn't Curve over your shoulders nicely to keep you down. With my body type, it hits only near my neck (don't think it's collarbone. One more bone up). I can tell it's sore this morning after the 10 rides.

I would say if you are worried about this for you, ride the Left side. The left side (evened both sides riding to tell difference) is a little more less forceful on you, so the restraint doesn't tighten up as much as the right. The right side does have the most interesting drop, but each dip pushes the restraint harder into your shoulders.

However, this problem only starts to occur after the 2nd or 3rd ride. I'm sure you guys will not be marathoning it or have the chance to, so I'm sure you guys will survive.

Rode 13 times, nearly all of them were good, except one of them I think the wheel was going bad on (shook like crazy). Ride was amazing, my favorite seats are the outer front right seat, and the outer left rear seat, with the seats in the middle having lots of airtime.
The only part I didn't like was the restraints, those over the shoulder belts will tighten on you over the whole ride, and after all those runs, I have two red patches on my shoulders from the belts. However, it isn't really painful until you've gone through several rides.
Got on one of the last trains for the day in the front right, and I saw the new browns quarterback. I managed to get a working photo, and I liked the free bag they gave us. Overall, a great day at the best theme park in the world! :)

I rode about 25 times in all seats and rows. Both of my collarbones are bruised. I am 6'1" 185. I felt the discomfort after the first ride at 5am!

I had no trouble breathing. During the last riding session I found that if I put my hands between the the vest and collarbones right after the attendant checked them and applied a little outward pressure, I was fine. For me it was not an uncomfortable position to ride once I figured out worked for me.

The ride itself is amazing. Did anyone else notice the vibrations in the outer seats? I could not take to much of that.

Despite those two things I personally experienced, again, I like the ride a lot. One has to remember that the things we experienced yesterday were due to the constant re-rides. In the course of the normal day to day operation and probably during CoasterMania this year the discomfort will be minimal since the number of rides gotten in a day will not be as many as was to be had yesterday.

My colar bone sticks out a little and I have the two red patches right in front of the colar bone about even with my shoulders. The problem with the restraints is the tension is high on the mechanism that cinches the shoulder strap tight against the body. What would totally fix the problem is if the restraint could be lockend into place, even as little as 1/8" of room would take pressure off the colar bone. Or at the very least, if tension could be reduced to a minimum. The restraint would still be effective as it is locked to not allow play, but the reduced tension trying to chinch it in would alleviate pain.

Hopefully the park is reading this and will make some adjustments.

Much thanks to cedar point for the opportunity to get in so many rides. My daughter and I got 12 rides in, and if we wanted to I'm sure we could have made somewhere in the 20's. It does take a lot out of you. Probably half the rides the vest tightened up extremely tight and while I didn't have trouble breathing it was uncomfortably tight. (5ft 11 170 lbs.) My daughter (9 years old) says it was really hurting digging into her hip bones on a couple rides.

After my first ride I was frankly a little disappointed. Maybe I over hyped what I thought it would be. It did tend to grow on me though. The first inversion drop I think I heard a rep from cedar point say it is the largest inversion in the world. Well let me tell you that by about halfway through the day I started seeing spots at the base of it. The g's must just be through the roof. I never really felt dizzy but I really got that feeling of blacking out later in the day. It always went away with the rise of the next hill.

By far the best part of the day though was watching our favorite place " coming back to life" My daughter and I made two complete laps around the park. It was really cool watching all the ride ops work out the kinks and learn there jobs. Funny to see the Matterhorn running with no one on it and the ride op sitting and reading her spiel to no one. We saw every ride running at least once except the corkscrew.
Very cool also watching all the last minute touches of cleaning all the areas, painting, and pulling weeds. My daughter especially loved walking by Auntie Anne's and since they were training we got free pretzels.

Gatekeeper's fun and I definitely will ride more but the best benefit of it will be pulling people out of the lines of Force, Magnum, Maverick and all the others.

Here's my two cents:

I had today off because my food stand was closed. Figured I'd get a lap on it since today had pretty low crowds. I waited 1 3/4 hours for it due to an hour long rain that came through.

I rode in the outer seat on the right-hand side of row 5. The first two inversions were great. The dive drop and immelmann were extremely disorienting and had some great positive Gs at the bottom of the drops. The airtime hill had only a bit of floater on it, not much. The next three inversions can best be described as acrobatic, mainly due to the floorless seats and the way the track twists. The keyholes had a great effect, as expected. The second twist over the gate was actually kinda slow, leading to some rather surprising hang-time. The helix was fairly forceful, but the final bunny hop only had a little airtime.

Unfortunately I found the ride from where I sat rather rough, with a nasty vibration going on that was enough to detract from the ride a bit. Overall though, it's a solid addition to the park and fits very well with the park's needs and ride lineup. I'll certainly be going to the employee ride night for it.

8/10, maybe 9/10 in the best seat.

Great ride! Restraints are very comfortable! 6'4" about 265. Fit just fine in any seat! Have yet to sit in the big boy seats.

That is great news. Right about the same build, glad that I won't have to sit in the ehmmm, larger seats, lol.

Don't be so sure. I'm 6' 1", 266 and while I could fasten the black (non big boy) belt on the test seat, I tried a number of times to ride on a row other than 4 to no avail. Row 4 fit without a problem though, and I saw a few men who I couldn't believe they fit at all.

Fun ride, but my collarbone is bruised beyond belief. Ouch.

I saw your post over TPR. I can fit on all of the rides no problem. MF and TTD are close but I still have about a 1/2in of slack in the belts. Raptor on the other hand is a tad tight but I still fit with more than enough room.

You should be fine then. I have a very small gut but my legs are like hams. I have a 29" thigh, which makes coasters frustratingly difficult to ride sometimes. Half my problem is having thighs too thick to fully sink down into a molded seat. There were a few GK rides where I could feel space between my rear and the seat.

Certainly glad I lost ~30 lbs before this year though. 295 with my body type would have been scary close, although I suppose at 300 your expectations of riding roller coasters should be minimal.

Of everything I've heard about the ride so far, I find the reports of bad vibrations most concerning... Don't B&M's usually only get worse in that regard?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I think they were trying out different wheel combinations, and a wheel or two went bad.
If you have an unusually rough ride on a normally smooth coaster, tell an operator, that's often a sign of a wheel that needs replaced.

Just got off now and it was an absolute blast! Moved right into the number 3 spot only behind dragster and Millennium! It was incredibly smooth and I personal experienced no discomfort with my restraint. I'm 5'11" 150 ish and I made sure to pulse out the restraint a little bit off my body(thanks to you're suggestion!) and it was perfect! It is a wonderful addition to the park!

Dragsterboy, how long is the wait right now since you just got off? Considering heading up there now...

I really enjoyed the ride, but does anyone see the vests being an absolute necessity? Before rolling into the station, they were quite uncomfortable, even though I sat there for only one minute. Think what it would be like if you were stuck because of a mechanical issue. I personally think CP should remove the vests.

It took a solid 2 and half hours and a ton of stuff is down currently including gatekeeper and dragster.

Do you know why GateKeeper is down?

I am suprised at all the complaints about the restraints. I personally liked them better than traditional restraints because there was no head banging. On Maverick I spend half the ride trying to keep my head from getting beat up. Same with Mantis and Corkscrew. Raptor and Wicked Twister are only slightly better. For me the vest style restraints were form fitting and maybe a bit heavy on the chest but not more than the lead vest for xrays at the dentist.

For all of those who are worried about their first rides with the vest restraints - go in with an open mind. Try to ignore the restraints and just enjoy the ride.

There are pros and cons to the vest.
The pros are it prevents your head from banging around and for safety reasons it hold you in place better.
The cons are that it becomes extremely tight and can be hard to take deep breaths.

I loved the ride and found it extremely smooth yet my friend said his ride was extremely bumpy (row in front of me).

As long as they fix the vest problem the ride is fantastic not to mention as long as you are in the queue the wait is only 2 hours or less.
