Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
I hope not! I don't want my wife to enroll me into a anti-CP group! LOL
Well I finally made it to this site, It is so cool a big THANKS for turning me on to it. I was reading some of the old posts about our ERT on mantis ERRR.. I mean BANSHEE I think our best stunt was carrying LuvRaptor on our arms!! :) The whole thing was an experiance I will never forget! I never meet so many people that share my CP addiction, I can't wait for the chance to hook up with Dan, Hoop, LuvRaptor again and meet more GTTP friends.
Once you are hooked there is no turning back. I should take this opportunity to clear up a few things. I have been talking with people in the park and through e-mails about my love for the park. People have been surprised that with the Force and how short the Magnum lines have been that I haven't been in the park as much and haven't seemed as hard core as in past years. I just want to say that I'm just getting ready to go back to school and I'm improving my financial situation a lot. My love for the park grows by leaps and bounds every day, I know that lately I haven't shown it, but in the long run when I have my degree and I'm living on the far west side of Cleveland and not the far east side everything will be cool. Besides I don't feel that I'm missing much for two big reasons. 1. I love Magnum ten million times more than Force. 2. I will be working there bonus weekends and halloweekends so I will definetly get my fill then.

... and to Jo and Jerry my tattoo will come in due time.

I agree, Once you have the monies to do what you want your pleasure vices increase. I have been a pass holder for 4 seasons and every year my addiction grows. This year it's out of control I can't get enough of MF and the other coasters

LOL. I am sitting here laughing about how fun that was on coastermania ERT with dan, jo, wire. Yeah you could basically slap a CP addicted sticker on me, and I would LOVE IT. Thanks alot to all I have met on GTTP for making this year at CP THE BEST EVER!!!

hey Hooper, remember how we were talking on the Mantis lift on Tuesday about how a year ago you NEVER thought you would be in the position of being on the GTTP boards and of having met all of these people? well, i feel the same way...i have only met a few of you in person so far, but i hope to keep it up and meet even more as this year goes on. i never imagined that there were this many others out there with the same CRAZY LOVE for CP as me!! i am so jealous of all of you guys who live closer than i do, but every time i see Dan's Magnum count jump, or Hooper and LuvRaptor's "flight challenge" escalate, i smile and am truly happy for all of you. that is part of what CP addiction is about for me..i get to share it with all of you guys!!

can't believe they cancelled the Simpsons after all these years...now look sad and say D'OH!!
You know what? They should make Cedar Point addict stickers or bumper stickers. That would be cool. Or like cling ons to put in ur car windows like those radio stations. They could hand them out at the park. Free advertising.
Remember the T-shirts that CP used to sell? On the back, it said "Things to do Today" and it had a checklist of all the coasters in the park.

How about one this year that reads "Cedar Point Addict 12-step Recovery Program", then lists the 12 "adult" coasters.

Hmm... I like this one so much that I might just have to hire a screenprinter to go ahead and make one up for me. :)

One of the psychiatrists that I work for said that I would be an excellent candidate for one of his obsessive/compulsive studies that he is an investigator for, this because I have CP plastered all over my office!!!

OK, let's take this thread in another direction.
First, "Hi I'm Old Timer Tim and I'm a CP addict."
Now, what I think would be interesting is WHY we are addicted.
For me, I grew up going to the park annually and had the pleasure of enjoying ten years of employment at the park. This is my 38th year of enjoying CP and I cannot get enough of it.

For me I guess I just love the thrill of coasters. Growing up on a farm, there isn't much excitement. When I was about 7, we took a trip to CP. We did this every other year up to 2 years ago when I could go with my school. This first ride I went on, was Iron Dragon, and I've been hooked ever since. When I rode Iron Dragon I was too short to go on Magnum. I cried for 2 hours waiting for the rest of my family to get through the line. Now that's depressing.

I spent my first 27 years a few minutes from CP. We looked at it as our extended backyard. I also worked there for 6 seasons in the 'unique' position of landscaper. I say unique, because it was very different from the typical seasonal job and it was great.

I LOVED that T-shirt! It's really hard for me to spend $20 to advertise for someone, but I'd buy that shirt in a heartbeat now. Hey, maybe I'll just get one of those iron-on things for ink-jet printers. Hmmm....

They still sell those T-shirts I see them frequently in the shops.

To me it is like a whole new world opened up. Two years ago I was riding gemini as my big boy. (WOW ;)) I rode raptor last year and that did it. So I have a lot of coaster mileage to make up. It is good to know that that there are other coaster nuts like me. And I am in bliss that they have accepted me so well. :)

I know; I kick myself you know where everytime I think of the 20 years I spent staying away from coasters; and only living oh 20-30 minutes (depending on how much I speed). Can't wait to see you all again. :)

BTW - I go crazy everytime I see a MF commercial at work.
